  1. Wainwright has given up 1 hit through 4 and has faced the minimum.
  2. They are playing 2 games above their pythag pace, while we're playing 3 games under, so we got that going for us. How different would we feel if these were the standings: Cubs 39-18 -- Cards 32-26 7.5 What's more incredible is that we are playing 2 games above our pythag and Isringhausen had 6 blown saves.
  3. I wouldn't be so sure, the farm system is looking pretty deep and there is going to be a lot of money coming off the books in the next 2 years. The Cardinals payroll is pretty much 60 million right now.
  4. St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Todd Wellemeyer, who was 4-0 with a 2.19 ERA in May, has been voted National League Pitcher of the Month. Wellemeyer won a career-best four straight decisions, tossing 37.0 innings in which he allowed 11 runs (nine earned), 28 hits (two home runs) and recorded 21 strikeouts and 12 walks. On May 9th at Milwaukee, the 29-year-old worked 6.0 innings and did not allow an earned run in his no-decision. In two starts vs. Pittsburgh (May 14th and May 30th), Todd worked seven innings and limited the Pirates to one run en route to winning both games. St. Louis acquired Wellemeyer via a waiver claim last May. Last season, the Kentucky native went 3-2 with a 3.11 ERA in 20 games (11 starts) for the Cardinals. http://stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20080602&content_id=2822806&vkey=pr_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
  5. Sad. How can you let a 22 year old kid throw 230 innings and average 113 pitches per start? I hated that he was a Cub, but he really was a joy to watch.
  6. Sure, such as...??? His dabbling in the Hamilton arts. I haven't heard about any of that. Link?
  7. Sure, such as...???
  8. So you think he's still using it?
  9. It's Brewerfan, no?
  10. It was deceptively quick in his prime. It looked slower because it was long, but he had very good bat speed.
  11. That's relevant. it's about rick ankiel, and maybe he doesn't make that catch without a little help. i stand by my link. You mean the HGH that he ordered 4 years ago? Makes sense  I'm sure the confessed cheater isn't cheating anymore. Totally trustworthy.q That's not true. HGH wasn't even banned when he ordered it. You can hate him because he's a Cardinal or whatever, but don't lie about him.

  13. That's relevant.
  14. I think I saw an angel grab his shoulders just as he reached for that ball. He pulled a McConaughey.

  16. Pitt threatening in STL 2 on 2 out in the 9th 7-4 STL
  17. I thought gay Edmonds jokes were fine, I've been reading them here for years.
  18. Runners on first and second with no out; runners try to steal; the batter pops up; the infield fly rule is called so the batter was out; the third base coach stops the runner who was stealing third but the runner stealing second keeps going and passes the other runner so he was out; finally the ball hits the runner as he is retreating to second so he was out. Now I'm wondering if this should, by the official rulebook, be a triple play. It would seem to me that once an infield fly rule is called, then the ball is "dead in the air". Can the runner going back to second really be out if the ball his him in this case? That triple play story happened in some spring training game, so I doubt the umps were real sticklers for the rules during such an esoteric baseball scenario. The batter is automatically out, but runners advance on their own risk. On a caught infield fly, a runner must tag up in order to be eligible to advance, as on any catch. If the infield fly falls to fair ground untouched, or is touched and dropped, runners need not tag up. In either case, since the batter is out, the force play on other runners is removed.
  19. Stay classy IMB! It's not like baseball is just a game or anything. If you want to even things out, please add Santo's legs and a Rod Beck picture to that image. Also, Corey Lidle, he's also dead. Hell, toss in Harry Caray because dead people in a picture of hell is hilarious. those people aren''t cardinals Harry Caray was a Cardinal longer than he was a Cub. I think he should be included in your hilarious hell picture.

  21. Because our coach got one. And Spiezio. josh hancock would've gotten one Wow. Not surprising though. Go ahead and make fun of Darryl Kile too, because people dying is hilarious. While you're at it, crack on Corey Lidle, he's also dead. I didn't make fun of anyone. You seemed to be saying that the manager was the only person who drove drunk. There's also a position player, and a pitcher - who ended up killing himself. Also, Darryl Kile died of a heart problem, Hancock died because he was an idiot. I'm sure no Cub has ever driven drunk, so I understand why your comments are so spot on.
