  1. Come to think of it, I don't like Mueller either.
  2. Something about Ledee just really irritates me. Not sure what it is though.
  3. That had to be a hit and run
  4. Until ARam starts hitting the ball DLee can expect a lot more of those.
  5. he is dominating but daytona is high A. he should be going to AA soon i would think with perhaps marmol going to iowa. in that case, it might be the end of brownlie with the cubs. I think you are jumping the gun a little. There isn't a need to move guys around yet after just the 3rd time thru the rotation. I think at the 10 start mark you may see some moves, and that's provided Marmol and Gallagher keep dominating. Gallagher was more dominant to start last year and stayed in Peoria all year. Marmol was dominant, and started 10 times in Daytona. And I don't think Brownlie is just gonna be tossed aside. He will at least finish the year in the organization. Brownlie = bust? Maybe, but Montanez has to be a bigger bust in my mind.
  6. Some of my favorites: Nolan Ryan missed a start after being bitten by a coyote. Outfielder Glenallen Hill received cuts over much of his body after he fell out of bed onto a glass table. He was having a nightmare about being covered in spiders. Outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. missed a game after his cup slipped and pinched a testicle. John Smoltz burned his chest while ironing the shirt he was wearing. Red Sox rookie Clarence Blethen thought he looked older and meaner if he took his false teeth out when he pitched. He forgot to put them back in his mouth when he was batting. While sliding into second base to break up a double play, his own teeth bit himself in the butt.
  7. Wonder if someone at BA will take notice now that he's dominating at AA.
  8. No arby, that's what burned Atl a couple years ago. Assuming he pitches well enough to justify it, 2 years at 9-10mil per is my best offer. Take it or leave it.
  9. Late game means BeerHere can listen on the train (1.5 hrs) home after b-school. Woo4me!
  10. If he has a great year, bring him back for 2 years. The Cubs could do much worse and given the state of the othe starters, nothing is ever certain. Personally I think Wood walks, Prior has had a choppy history the last couple years. A lot depends on how Marshall/Hill/Guzman do this year. If all three are spectacular, maybe Maddux walks. If all three stumble or get hurt, Maddux should stay. Either way, it's too early to tell and it's no certainty that MadDog will pitch this well the entire year. I sincerely hope he does and Hendry is forced to make a tough decision this offseason.
  11. I sincerely hope that Z has his A game tonight. He's certainly due.
  12. The team being 4 games over .500 and pitching well certainly has something to do with the slowed rehab.
  13. From Bruce, at the end of the article. No knee damage just a bad hamstring injury. http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/cubs.asp
  14. Happy Birthday Bruce
  15. I remember reading where Kerry Wood threw a huge number of pitches ina high school game. Not sure if this is right, but the number 250 is in my head.
  16. I just noticed that the Marlins staff has 5 former cubs. Nolasco made the team in the pen, Willis and Mitre and starting, Jobo and Welly are also in the pen. Willis and Mitre are pitching ok. Nolasco hasn't given up a run yet. Welly and Jobo have been hit hard. 1-6 to start the season.
