  1. Eli vs. Tennessee or Palmer at Carolina? I like both of those matchups. B. Jackson at Bears or Moreno vs. Indy? Benched Moreno two weeks in a row. Bad move both times. I've also got GB defense, which makes me nervous. But there aren't any better options on the WW.
  2. That thought occurred to me. That he was just out of stuff to write about. But there must be some fluff piece he could write, rather than a self-serving, holier-than-thou screed against his colleagues.
  3. I'd say you've got a better than 50% chance of pulling that one off. Which is amazing, because that dude that started Snelling either has a horseshoe up his ass or should start a side career as a fortune teller. I'm up by 10 and out of bullets. Opponent has the SF defense/special teams. In our league, you get a certain number of points for holding the score down, but get nothing after 20. I think it's fair to say NO will put up 20 on them. That leaves INTS/fumbles (2 each) and sacks (1). If he gets a D/ST touchdown, I will break something. Haha SF D got him two points. 2-0 is awfully nice, though my points against are the lowest in the league BY FAR. So I'm getting lucky. Makes up for last year when I was the high scorer in the league and managed to miss the playoffs.
  4. I don't get the point of this column: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/morrissey/2725194,CST-SPT-morrissey19.article Is he whining about his colleagues? Just being a sourpuss? It's not often I read an opinion piece and look back on it and wonder what motivated him to write it.

  6. Haven't seen much SEC football yet this year: Does Arkansas have a chance?
  7. Funny how a couple weeks can change your perspective on the schedule difficulty...I'm trying not to jump to conclusions here, but there are a lot of games that look a lot more winnable this morning. The Giants game was the only won that looked potentially intimidating, but there wasn't any reason to assume the Giants were world beaters even before this week. The Vikings and Eagles both look a lot less scary than they did before the season started, imo. Right, but I have no doubt those are going to be tough games. The schedule is still a beast, IMO. You have GB twice, MIN twice, New England, Jets, Dolphins on the road, Philly, Redskins, NYG. Those are tough games, and I don't want to get carried away with thinking we're going to win more than half of those games. Win 5 of them though and you're looking very good for the playoffs. That would leave them with 7 wins, and the other four games are extremely winnable: Seattle, Carolina, Detroit and Buffalo. Win three of those and you have 10 wins.
  8. I'm still surprised it's only 3 points. But I guess the Bears are at home. It's early in the year, but how huge would this one be.
  9. He's not going to score 50, but we're pretty lucky to have that guy.
  10. I'm done benching Moreno. And I can't believe Eli put up 17 points for me.
  11. What else can be said. Cutler was incredible and Knox played a lot better than last week. Already can't wait for next Monday night.
  12. I don't feel like the season has crept up on me, but it's going to take some getting used to watching with the vast majority of the pressure off. Sure, I want the team to repeat. But I just feel a little more complacent, or I guess content. I hope the team isn't of the same mind though, of course. And I'm sure Q isn't.
  13. I wish him nothing but the best. I just hope he stays motivated.
  14. Blackouts all over! Or at least all over California. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5581180 The NFL doesn't seem to be as nimble as other leagues in pricing tickets. When the Blues suck here, they discount tickets deeply to get butts in the seats. I don't see the Rams or other NFL teams doing anything like that.
  15. I've got the final games of the SJ and PHI series on DVR. Think I'll need to add this one to complete the chain. That's alot of HDD space taken up on my DVR though. Yeah, same here. I let go of '09 Game 6 vs. Canucks (Kane hattie) after they won this year. I'll probably get rid of all but Games 5 and 6 vs. Philly.
  16. Cutler on Hester's game vs. Lions: Context free, that sounds bad. But, probably realizing what he just said, he continued:
  17. Williams, Foster, and Turner. But I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Kujay, I'd probably go with Jackson. Love the matchup. Pierre Thomas vs 49ers or Jahvid Best vs Eagles? Not loving either of those options, but Philly is going to be able to stack the box. I'd go with Thomas.
  18. Wow. Williams, then Turner, no?
  19. Moreno or Brandon Jackson?
  20. Gonna have to find a place to watch this one in Boston. Any suggestions? Don't know the city, so I can't say where I'm staying other than it's downtown.
  21. Two of Roddy White (vs. ARI), Randy Moss and Wes Welker (both @ NYJ). Yes, I'm stacked at WR. Concerned about what I'm seeing from the Jets defense tonight. So it might just be, pick one of the Patriots. EDIT: Also, Eli at Colts or Palmer vs. Ravens? Eli in a no-brainer?
  22. Yeah this.
  23. Yeah that's a pretty stupid thing to say. And I agreed with the call at the time.
  24. Yeah, I'm torn between Moreno and Spiller too. I went with Spiller (so far) because he is 100% healthy, starting, and has played in the preseason. There are whispers that Moreno may be limited to a certain number of plays. Wells is looking like a game-time decision (did not practice yesterday) and is still Hightower's backup. I hope you suffered through that with me, buddy. #-o
  25. That playcalling at the end was a horribly inept display. I particularly liked the run call on 4th and 1 from the 39 with 10 seconds left (with 1 timeout). What did that gain them? They get a new set of downs but only had time to throw a Hail Mary anyway. I didn't mind that. You had time for two plays but had to get a first down. So you could have just thrown the HM on fourth down, I guess. Don't see what that gains you though. Not calling the timeout with about 40 seconds left was the big gaffe. Wasted a ton of time. And Bradford is still young and made a lot of mistakes, but his WRs let him down big time.
