  1. Sharp is a horse.
  2. Dear lord, Frolik. I almost feel bad for the guy now.
  3. Pains me to say, but the Hendry injury makes the waiving of Boynton look not so good.
  4. Yeah I'm on board with this. They can live without Potulny, and this type of move was made absolutely necessary by Hendry's injury last night. I wonder if he can make it to Minny tonight and suit up. Otherwise, unless Hendry is back in there, it's either Scott or Cullimore for the 6th defense spot. Yuck.
  5. If they trade Leddy for Smid...nevermind, they wouldn't do that. They can seek Leddy all they want. He's basically untouchable, IMO. I wouldn't go that far. But if the return is a minus defenseman (on a bad team, admittedly) with no goals this year, then yes, he's untouchable. Give up Connelly or Lalonde first.
  6. If they trade Leddy for Smid...nevermind, they wouldn't do that.
  7. Frolik reminds me a lot of, well, Jack Skille. He puts himself in position to get the puck to the net, but he doesn't know how to bury his chances. Stalberg's the same way too. Skille doesn't have that move Frolik put on last night. And you're right about Stalberg. That guy is so fast sometimes, it makes me think he's loafing it the rest of the time.
  8. I'm starting to expect that this team is going to win, but last night was frustrating. If the Hawks from the 1st period are what we are getting down the stretch, they'll get the 4th seed and be a huge threat in April and May. If it's the 2nd/3rd period Hawks, they still probably get into the playoffs, but it will be a struggle and they won't get far. And Michael Frolik. Talk about frustrating. Dude makes a sick move, gets in point blank and can't bury it. I heard someone on the telecast say last night that he's snakebit, and once he breaks through, he'll score in bunches. He better. Also, it's trade deadline day. A center and a 5/6 defenseman are on Stan's shopping list.
  9. He's looked really good this season. He's legitimately the team's MVP this year. He made quite a few big saves yesterday when we were only up 1-0. Like you said, with the way our defense has fallen off this season, he's had to bail them out on a number of occasions. He's made some great saves lately, but he still gives up those stupid rebounds sometimes. I'm just not comfortable with him back there. Yet.
  10. Would have preferred Detroit beat Dallas tonight, but oh well. It's exhausting to keep saying it, but the next two games will be huge and will go a long way in deciding this team's fate.
  11. Huge win. Almost wish they didn't have another couple days off.
  12. I feel like I said this a lot last season but haven't much this year -- this has been a great road game. Really locking things down in the defensive zone, and enough offense to get it done. And Crawford has played very well when needed.
  13. I've been scoreboard watching for a few weeks now. I have too, there are just too many teams and too many possible scenarios on most nights. That said, I'm glad the Hawks have turned it on a little and I actually care about these things.
  14. Seems to me the last few nights while the Hawks were off went pretty well. With a win tonight I think they move into a tie for 5th. Huge game. Also seems to me it's too early for me to watch all the other games every night and try to figure out the best scenario for the Hawks and their playoff chances.
  15. 5-way tie now for 7th/8th at 68 points. Three of those teams have a game in hand on the Hawks though. Broken record, but another HUGE game Thursday night in Nashville.
  16. Eddie thought it was questionable, a play more about position than interfering. Thanks. Well now it's 4-3 anyway. Dammit. Knew this wasn't going to be easy.
  17. Anyone watching? Good call disallowing this one?
  18. When was the last roller coaster you were on that ended on a peak? IDK, but if they score four more in the 3rd, I'm calling a minimum eight-peat.
  19. If this is Kaner hungover, somebody lock the kid up with a gallon of Ketel One.
  20. That was quick.
  21. Stalberg, welcome to the season.
  22. If we had these two things, the team would be in a lot better position right now. The thing that bothers me about Hossa is a complete lack of urgency. Several times in the last three games alone I've watched him wait just a little too long and blow a great scoring chance.
  23. I agree...the defense has been brutal. Crawford shouldnt need to stand on his head...mostly because he can't. edit: and the defense isnt even their biggest problem either. Crawford is not a good goaltender, at least right now. He is one of many big problems.
