I'm getting really tired of the Chicago media making excuses for Jon Scott. Pat just did it, and during the pregame Boden and Konroyd were both talking about how much improvement he is showing. I'm not seeing it. He must be a really nice guy, and the media obviously likes him. But he still can't skate for [expletive].

Yup. At first I thought they were going to call off the goal, but the posts stayed in position thankfully. What happens if a player very obviously purposely pushes the goal off the moorings during a scoring opportunity for the other team? Depending on the situation, the refs have the discretion to call a penalty shot, give a minor penalty, or award a goal. In practice, if a player is determined to have deliberately knocked the goal off the moorings -- as almost happened last night -- that would be ruled a goal. I didn't actually think he did it on purpose. Thought he just ended up in that spot and when he went to skate forward he knocked the net forward. But then, I don't hate Edler as much as I hate some of the other goofs on that team. So I guess I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.
