  1. Leddy is having a great game so far. He's getting especially solid in the offensive zone. Just made a great play to keep a hard pass in the zone.
  2. Wow JT just made the highlight reel. Ok forgot I had paused for a bit so I'm a few minutes behind.
  3. Crap Hawks are back.
  4. Sure if they threw in Gaustad and Regehr too. And assuming we could afford all those guys.
  5. I like JR, but he says some dumb things: http://espn.go.com/chicago/nhl/story/_/id/7578743/jeremy-roenick-chicago-blackhawks-afford-trade-patrick-kane I'd be okay with trading Kane for the right player but not for a goalie. And not for this guy, but the Hawks ought to be looking at Paul Gaustad. Buffalo should be sellers at this point.
  6. At least Leddy looked preety good in those minutes- from what I saw. I missed the first goal. I didn't think that lepisto looked bad when he was out there and made at least one really good play to stop a potential breakaway. The end result was obviously bad but I thought the effort and intensity were there. The Hawks pretty much controlled 90% of the play. It's hard to tell how much of that was by design given the system the Preds use. To me, this game underscored the goaltending issue. I thought Leddy had a pretty good game. Nice that Morrison is a scratch in favor of Scott, who played four minutes. I sure hope Connelly doesn't turn out to be much. This is worse than the Sammy Pahlsson trade.
  7. I assume you're suggesting it was 4 minutes too many?
  8. So Stan, we don't need a goalie?
  9. That should help. Two suspect goals given up by Rinne, in spite of how good he's been.
  10. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but Foley seems critical of Hossa tonight. Not that he's wrong, though as I said I think his effort level has been better tonight.
  11. Wow, Blues scored with 1.8 left to tie it but Perron punched it in. No goal. Good game in CBJ though.
  12. Rinne is good. Wow.
  13. Haven't played all that badly. Still losing. Hossa has shown up at least.
  14. Here's some discussion on this: http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/id/14622/daily-debate-rick-nash-trade-saga-begins Kane + for him, I don't know. It would never happen though as Kane wouldn't want to go there anyway. The money wouldn't be all that much different, but it's still a lot. I'd say no. I don't know how Vancouver could make that money work, but if they gave Schneider + others for him, game over. Though I wouldn't think Columbus would be all that hot on getting back a goalie is the main part of the haul for Nash. Sure, Schneider is good, but so was Mason just a few years ago.
  15. HE DOESN'T HIT PEOPLE! It's not about that, though I like my scorers more in the bigger, more physical mold. He only works hard in the neutral and defensive zones every couple of games. Too much cherry picking. Too much circling around. You know, not working hard. Which is a synonym for lazy. I did see on Twitter just now that he told the reporters his wrist has good days and bad days. Guess that makes it hard for him to skate. Also saw that Hammer missed practice with concussion-like symptoms. I know he has regressed, but we need him right now.
  16. By nice, do you mean never going to happen or the biggest potential for disaster? Kane has a no movement clause and likes Chicago. Even if he was agreeable to a trade, who has the players they'd need to get back to make it worthwhile? Trading Kane = giving up on this season at least and probably the next 2. Bad as this streak has been they're not there yet. By nice, I mean I would like it if they were able to get rid of him and his contract and get some talent in return. I don't see how trading a 12 goal scorer gives up on the next three seasons. I generally agree that we shouldn't overreact to a bad stretch, but taking the long view, is a lazy, one-dimensional ex-goal scorer really necessary at $6M/year? I forgot about the no-movement clause though.
  17. 14 road games left / 12 home games -- just counting off the schedule. Doesn't look like much of a home run from here on out. This is pretty ugly stuff. We're missing the playoffs unless something happens to wake this club up. I have no doubt that something is happening in the next two weeks, and very likely something major. What do they have to lose at this point? I don't mean Q getting fired either, which I don't think will happen. One of the "core" guys is going -- would be nice if it was Kane.
  18. St. Louis just won't lose. Watching that team play makes watching the Hawks all the more frustrating.
  19. I don't know how it's going to turn out today, but Tiger looks like he's really close. And the leader (Wi) had a four shot lead to start and doubled 1. Not feeling any pressure, I'm sure.
  20. These dudes just don't give a [expletive]. Watch Hossa closely. Or Bolland. Kruger too. Is Stalberg even in this game?
  21. I'm not saying Q has lost this team, but his message isn't getting through. That said, this has to become about pride for these guys after awhile. Just zero effort. And shitty goaltending.
  22. I don't know whether the Hawks should retire JR's number. It's borderline for me. But I do know Phoenix shouldn't be.
  23. Oh yeah forgot the second loss was this week. And now the third.
