  2. Soler was too low, his scouting grades are off. And neither Vogelbach nor Candelario should be in the top 20 any more. I'd replace them with guys like Sands and Zagunis. These lists are kinda maybe not bad at the top and then "here's a bunch of guys we heard of and kinda like".
  3. Is it time for someone to write a meatball article about how that pose is going to be a "Cubs thing" and it how it just happens to coincide with the Cubs starting to win and to be a part of a "winning culture"? Oh no I can feel the meatball sensation sorta tingling inside.
  4. First round pitchers, man. Not that they needed it. But our FO is looking like Geniuses these last 3 drafts with the whole "pick ab fab bat 1 then upside arms" strategy. It might take longer. You end up with a bigger bat quicker and it might take a few years but you could still get a pitcher that ends up better than any of the 1st round guys picked over him. We've got a pool of pitchers that have that upside.
  5. I see you http://static.memrise.com/img/400sqf/from/uploads/course_photos/59011_neytiri1.jpg
  6. That photo has a 1972 look to it. It's artsy.
  7. Has there been any player anyone can think of that had good pedigree, put up minor league and major league struggling stats like Vitters and the light just clicked turning him into a starter or even good player? I know he is what he probably is and hes not necessarily young but he's also not necessarily for sure too old to improve. Is there anybody we can compare Vitters too that can give us any sort of hope. I know if possible its a 1 in 1000 chance of probably happening but still. I dont know why I even care but I guess I used to like Vitters a lot as a prospect around 08 or 09 ? Hope for what? We have like 20 guys ahead of him anyway. I was asking whether there was any hope in him the individual turning it around. Obviously the system has progressed to the point that he is an after thought and not going to make or break the franchises fortunes going forward. I always like Vitters and it pretty much seems he is probably done when it comes to his chances of being a successful Cub but I was curious if anybody could pull out an example of someone with a similar story maybe turning it around this late in their career. What good would one story do for you? Out of 10000000 ballplayers that just means if you confirmed one story Vitters would have a %0.00001 chance of turning it around.
  8. It's more like, he only knows your name if you are a top 100 prospect. I mean he might know Mckinney's name at some point, but not yet.
  9. Yeah I was wondering why rizzo did the whole "kiss the sky" thing. He doesn't usually do that. Good for his buddy.
  10. Hell ya, you tell 'em Theo! Cuck the Fardnals
  11. I'm still waiting for that "something else" he supposedly had and will supposedly post it today. Hasn't yet. . .
  12. In response about Almora. I trust our FO in their development. They saw what they needed to see from Almora. I have full confidence this is the right move, and will not harm his development in any way.
  13. It would have been funnier if they made up a stupid sounding name and they still bought it. Like Troy McFart.
  14. He probably already knows but is saving it. He promised something before Thursday and he better be clicking "send" unto Bleacher Nation as I type.
  15. This is good. We needed an AA in AA since AA left AA.
  16. I'd be willing to bet those responses are more a result of just being uncomfortable on camera and people trying to look like they know what they're talking about, regardless of fanbase. rather than be defensive of a dumb ass fan base (most/all of which are dumb, yes), why not just lol at idiots? Because it kinda irks me when media purposefully screen out normal people and only show dumb sh.its. Bernstein does this too (at least I accuse him of it). I'm not saying there's a 10-1 smart-stupid ratio for Cubs fans. But I can guarantee if they filmed a handful of people in a row, one of them would have said "UUUuuhh, they got a guy named Russell".
  17. No doubt. Hopefully we can look back at the time when all the rebuild plans started turning things around.
  18. The last thing the front office should want to do is give off some sort of "Baez is our savior" vibe. He's already going to be putting that sort of pressure on himself because of who he is. If anything they'll want to lower expectations for fans. Which is just another reason he may not come up until late next spring. But man if he comes up soon... So exciting! They aren't doing that. They are just giving little cookies to fans (even though Theo said he doesn't do this) by kinda hinting/bringing up his name. That's not saying "Baez is our savior" or like "hint hint, hey guys maybe Baez is coming soon".
  19. results getting a little better = going for it when compared to the relative suckitivity of the last 3 years.
  20. Wait to hear what Len and JD say at the start of the game. If Len mentions Baez in even the slightest, it might be a tea leaf. Len has been mentioning Baez a lot in radio interviews and on TV. It almost seems like he's on a promotion tour. And he wouldn't be doing that without some sort of hint or nod from the FO. All I'm saying here is, Baez is not going to be in AAA until next May.
