  1. Yet another topic derailed into race this, race that. Brown, white. Whatever. My god some of you love to argue.
  2. Mike Maddox just looks alot like Steven P. Keaton from family ties. http://www.bleachernation.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/mike-maddux-cubs.jpeg http://www.columbusalive.com/content/graphics/2010/03/09/10SteveKeaton.jpg?__scale=w:301,h:258
  3. The most exciting thing about watching Castro is thinking about the changes being made to this team. We've got a really special young player here, and he will grow with the team as we finally start to build it the right way. The fact that he will be part of a winning team. Not just a lone star in a sky of lovable losers. That's exciting.
  4. Hopefully if Epstein can't get what he considers good value he keeps Zambrano. It would be worth it just for the fact to piss kaplan off. He'll be thinking "WHUT!! OMG WTF WHY DID U KEEP Z!!"
  5. You didn't miss much. It was incredibly lame. 20 some odd minutes of boring fluff. It would have been more entertaining if they just put his top most impressive highlights into about a 2-3 minute film. It was him hitting homeruns in slow motion and standing at the plate for 10 seconds watching them while "Sailing" played. It was amazing. The part you liked so much was about 2 minutes out of the 21 minutes. Therefore you agree with me. :P
  6. Thata woulda be awesome! WahAaa! WEeee!
  7. Fail. Mike's moustachio points the wrong way. He can't be mario.
  8. I agree. :D We're all well aware that you don't want the Cubs to sign Pojuls. Actually if it happened I'm sure I'd be giggly like a little girl. Because of first 4 or so seasons would be great. Just not looking forward to his near 40s years. Plus as far as I know Fielder hasn't won a WS. With Fielder I think after awhile he would feel like a "Cub" because of his age and what he hasn't accomplished yet. With Pojuls it will feel to much like we are "borrowing" a cardinal. I just don't like that feeling. :P
  9. Well with Mike, we are sort of getting a pitching coach in manager's clothing. Which is one reason he's my favorite on the list. I mean even if he's not the pitching coach if he notices something about one of our pitchers he will talk to whoever the pitching coach is and work to fix it. And he might notice something the PC doesn't, he's a really good PC.
  10. Please please please. I don't know the comments about his family make it seem like he's hinting that he really isn't wanting to move. Guess is he stays put.
  11. You didn't miss much. It was incredibly lame. 20 some odd minutes of boring fluff. It would have been more entertaining if they just put his top most impressive highlights into about a 2-3 minute film.
  12. You all can forget Pojuls, I just don't think it's gonna happen. IF Hoyer does end up signing one of the elite players it will probably be Fielder. Because atleast he is still young and going into his prime. Even though weight is a concern his age does make him more deserving of a 6-8 year contract, thus making Theo and Hoyer more likely to sign him. Because they might see Prince more of "paying him for future performance" as they have said recently. And I could get more excited about Fielder to the Cubs than Pojuls. He's still young enough to kinda grow with the new Cubs core that will be coming through the system soon (the likes of Castro, Jackson, and hopefully more very very soon).
  13. I don't think it will be "small" or inconsequential, or big. I think his first move will be something moderate. He'll trade something decent for something else decent where we have a hole. That's what I think his first move will be. He'll either trade for or sign a middling near top tier free agent pitcher or something.
  14. Just $30 million? Spread over how many years I wonder? He's deffinately worth taking a $30 mil gamble on I'd say.
  15. Yeah Lincecum is the kinda guy you hope to develop and then sign longterm to a team friendly deal. It would take way too much to get him.
  16. Lol, for the taxpayers. This traitor and every damn person in office works for their donors. To actually try to pretend otherwise is sickening.
  17. You are calling him PeeWee Herman and he's the one that should be banned?
  18. Thank God these are off the books after next year. That will really help with flexibility going forward. I view these as nice young positive assets (IE: easily sought after for trades, but also appealing to keep). We need alot more of these. Wouldn't mind seing back. Good riddance.
  19. I don't even think he's really a candidate. Why would Theo have talked about him then? Well he's not ruling him out completely. But there is an article of him saying he doesn't want this to be completely red sox version 2. I think deep down he wants a new (non red sox) face to put with the new Cubs.
  20. I hope it's Maddux. 1, reunites Maddux bros. 2, when all is going well for the Cubs I can say it's all thanks to Mike and his magic moustache. Kind of like cubbie version of pixie dust.
  21. Awwww, so cute! Let's pick him up!
