I wouldn't argue the point with you, as stated, but at the same time, I defy you to name somebody on our roster that hits right handed and has outproduced Neifi hitting in the second slot. Now, that's pathetic, no? And we thought our 1and2 were fixed when Pierre got here. Are we eternally doomed at the 1 and 2 spot? Dare I say. . . . . . CURSED!!? ::GASP!!::

Aren't those couple bad starts sprinkled in between his great starts considered "growing pains" we should let our young pitchers go through? The more starts he get the more he will become a confident, consistant major league pitcher.

Too bad those blowups happen though.... I don't get what you're trying to say. Are you saying too bad they HAPPENED to marshall. You think they will continue to happen to marshall. Too bad it happens to ALL pitchers?

one good start by marmol and marshall's 4.43 era remind you of prior's near cy young season and wood's 14 win, 3.19 era and amazing pitching down the stretch leading the cubs to the postseason? that's some imagination you got there. While I agree it's a stretch. He's just basically excited to see some pretty decent young guys step up and possibly be our pitchers next year. Don't put a downer on that please!! You have to remember also that marshalls ERA is inflated by that one inning where he gave up like 6 or 7 runs. He's had a handful of only giving up 1-3 runs per game. 4 of his 12 starts he's been pretty bad(4 ER/4.1 IP, 4 ER/5 IP, 9 ER/3.2 IP, 7 ER/3.1 IP), so it's not like one or two outings are really skewing his numbers. You are right, he has to be more consistant. But I beleive his ERA would be under 4.00 if it weren't for that 1 outinng. He's shown more promising stuff that far outweights those bad outings. And he's looked to put together better, more consistant outings lately.

I see Murton being trade for the sole reason he doesn't have the SLG and HR power a LF should have. And if you have people like Pie and Jones in CF and RF next year. You are gonna have to unload SOMEONE for some power. I like Murton and Cedeno. But of the 2 I see Murton going because in Cedeno's case he gives you above average #'s for his position. Murton much much below average. If Murton in addition to some other peices could get us someone real good in LF, I would do it. Even though I really like the kid.

I was going to suggest a rule change where they give a Cy Young to the best pitcher whose last name begins with each letter, but they both begin with M!! Curses!! I can't beleive you guys are actually saying this. Marshal and Marmol are GOOD pitchers. That is all!! . . . . . by the way I detect your obvious sarcasm and am kidding myself.
