  1. Why would we even trade for Stanton when we already have our own Future Stanton in Soler. And you still get to roll the dice with guys like Baez and Russell. Ok half kidding about Soler, but man does the ball carry on his hits. All I'm saying is, Stanton is a huge investment to be paid with young talent. I'm not against it. I just think we have so much potential that it's very likely one of our very own guys end up a superstar.
  2. As long as he's healthy I'd expect him to play at least 150+/- games. ~10 games off, if done right, around scheduled off days should give him more than enough rest if they are worried about him wearing down or whatever. I'd rather take it easy with soler. ~140 games.
  3. I felt like making a childish comment. Next one comes up next time I post.
  4. So when does Almora get added to that photoshop? Next year? Very nice looking BTW.

  6. That's like king me, cept better.

  8. Hell you wouldn't have to sign anyone, Arietta, Hendricks, Turner, Wood, and Wada have it in them to be mediocre +.
  9. I could legit see Bryant with 40 in MLB though.
  10. Yeah, Atlanta would have to pay so we only owed Upton $22 mil. At that point I might consider it.
  11. shh. Dusty might hear you.
  12. You'd be stuck with him for 3 years instead of 2. So my first reaction is, just suffer through what we have and be done with it. However you could more easily hide Upton as a 5th OF than Jackson as a reliever. Cause heaven forbid, what if we are competing next year? You could only allow Jackson to pitch in blowouts. All of this makes me smile as I think back to some of the guys who were upset with the rebuild and wanted us to sign guys like Upton, and just smile.
  13. I know. The stated Theo 3-year rebuild plan is right on schedule. It's very exciting. Yeah it is pretty exciting to be on the cusp of it. And be amazed how incredible our top 10 look. When you think about it though. I think we have enough high upside talent under them that in a few years the next wave of talent won't look to shabby either. When you consider Jimenez, Torres and Tseng. Sands and Steele, next year's likely high pick. There are tons of guys in our system that could break out in a big way in the next couple of years even once our big time guys graduate. Heck, even guys like Mckinney and Almora could bust out and be regarded even higher than they are now. Loads of talent in this system.
  14. not like it matters, but it would seem unlikely Texas value Hendricks and Villanueva very highly http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/838211/JohnsonSwingMiss.gif.opt.gif :good:
  15. Out of the 3 $1mil+ bonus baby HS pitcher. What odds do you put at getting at least 1 mid rotation starter out of Sands, Cease, Steele? I haven't been following MiLB enough. But I do know that I like our approach. College bat or HS bat high. Then HS or C pitchers in volume. Seems to be a great strategy. But how much of a gamble really are guys like that?
  16. Once all of the guys are up or traded, they'll find ways to keep it going enough to sustain a great MLB team. What we have now, is half a dozen high first round picks from good scouting teams. That's why it's so good. We have a #9, #2, #4, #6, #11, and #24 overall pick. 2 of which we got from a blockbuster midseason selloff and 4 of them are our very own. It will never be this good again, but the exciting thing is this is all a process to make the MLB team exciting again, and hopefully for a long time.
  17. Can anyone shed some light on Almora? He wasn't lighting the world on fire in A+ but got promoted anyway. Struggled some but seems to have gotten hot lately. Most of the other top prospects are easy to follow. Tears the league to shreds, gets promoted, does the same with new league. Could anyone with more knowledge explain his struggles, the reason for his promotion, and reason for optimism?
  18. Jairo Perez. btw - McKinney at #7 is the only teenager in the top 50 in OPS in the FSL He turns 20 today :( Damn, well so much for McKinney. :bye:
  19. I'm crossing my fingers extra tight fro Schwarber and McKinney. They are our 2 best LH bats on the farm. We already got one studly LH hitter in Rizzo. Alcantara's got a chance to be a solid regular possibly. Would just like one of them to succeed as a solid regular to add another quality LH bat coming up from the farm.
  20. How much did he have to pay?
  21. Where is the OH game thread? I could only find the Jake Arietta thread.
  22. It is indeed. What, the arguing in the Arietta thread? Eh, nothing drastically different than you'd expect.
  23. There's something I'm rubbing. It's my sore shoulders, MAN.
