And to clarify: there's nothing in that we don't know already. Cutler turns it over more than is ideal. That is, however, hardly unique to him. You can still be a good QB and turn the ball over more than you want. It's just pointless to seemingly try and pin it as the reason why the Bears are struggling, when it's just a reason out of many as to why the team has imploded. Yeah, when your two main WR have been playing hurt and the OL has regressed/been injured and they essentially have to score on nearly every possession just to even stay in the game, he's going to press and give up critical turnovers. I have no idea why pointing out the obvious should be a "gut punch." -

this. my jaw hit the floor when he's rounding second and kept glancing at what was going on in the outfield. Yup. Just bad baserunning on Gordon's part. I don't necessarily agree that he should have gone/been sent with how badly he actually ran the bases, but if he had run like he should have even being just past 3B would have made it real interesting.

He's got that bad period of 4-5 years in the middle of his tenure, but that's bookended by equal or greater periods of success. People knock the first few years because he had Bonds and they didn't actually win a WS, but [expletive] them. The guy's a solid GM.

That's an odd reaction. Its kind of fitting because a guy named Madison Bumgarner went 7 picks after we drafted Josh number 3 overall. If we're going to bemoan missed drafting opportunities for the Cubs we'll be doing it for years.

Now Hub is saying he doesn't want the Cubs signing any pitchers until they are ready to compete at "all nine positions." WHY DO I KEEP TURNING THIS ON?!?

Hub pretty much discounted Levine but said he understands Levine is protecting his sources by saying there is no deal. Hub has been around this stuff long enough to know what Levine was trying to do. Yeah, I should have clarified that the stuff with Levine was clearly just smoke and mirrors. I was more annoyed with the "they'll suck for 2-3 years" talk. at first i thought you were saying he had rozner on (because you later actually referred to him as rozner) somehow the fact that it's hub bothers me less. he's a harmless downer and doesn't nearly annoy me as much as arrogant ass rozner. They both sound like sleepy-voiced asshacks who annoy me.

Who is on the Score right now? Rozner? Whoever it is, he just had Bruce Levine on and Levine is saying his sources are saying no deal has been reached and negotiations are ongoing. Rozner said that even if the Cubs signed Maddon, Shields and Lester they'd still be 2-3 years away from competing. I then turned it off, or maybe threw the radio out the window, I'm not sure.

Yeah, I think it'll work well in that regard. No 'my people' to bring along, and then after this year they can evaluate if they want to keep working together(except for Bosio, he stays forever). Renteria can stay on as bench coach, learn at the feet of the master and then take over. Baseball works like a made up video game, right?
