  1. Definitely sounds like Bosio is sticking around. Nice.
  2. He is adorably nervous and dorky.
  3. Dinner with the Ricketts family was comfortable until everyone just sat there staring at the check.
  4. [expletive], I've never been excited over a manager signing. This is cool as hell.

  6. that sweet 7-win difference between Vitters+Stewart and Ramirez in '12 is precisely why we have Kris Bryant right now This is true. Ah well; I just missed Aramis.
  7. Yes, it's 20/20 hindsight that Aramis' productive 3-year contract at ages 34-36 ended up being exactly the bridge needed to get to Bryant. Go crap in your hat and leave me alone.
  8. that's a different topic The...[expletive]? I have too much of a headache to go down the gooney wormhole today.
  9. I think you'll find plenty of people here who thought Aramis' age coupled with his injury history vs. the expectations of the FO being able to find at least a capable platoon at 3B would mean the Cubs had a decent shot of at least matching his production for Milwaukee.
  10. Obviously the epitome of 20/20 hindsight, but it's super annoying that his contract basically lined up perfectly with the parade of crap (Valbuena excepted) that the Cubs ended up having to deal with at 3B.
  11. Yeah, that's basically the most brutally pessimistic approach one could take towards Minneosta; they've got a ton of young talent and so what if it takes a bit longer? If they offer more money and he prefers working with Molitor I could easily see Bosio taking the job. There's a lot to work with there.
  12. Maddon. And no. Between Maddoon and the FO I'm confident they'd find another good pitching coach. That's something that the Cubs, for the most part, haven't had trouble with.

  14. ozzie as a 3B coach or bench coach or something harmless like that would be hilarious i like also like having people around who fans of other teams tend to hate That's what Javy is for. It would help if he could first make us not hate him.
  15. I don't care about Sox meatballs; Cubs meatballs would hate him regardless of the Ozzie Ball stuff. Stop ruining my meatball fantasy, robutt.
  16. I don't think so at all. Between him simply being the Sox manager, his repeated comments about the Cubs and Wrigley and the whole choking thing in 2003, it seems like the average Cubs fan can't stand him. He got booed a ton whenever they played at Wrigley.
  17. This insane idea delights me to no end. omg yes. i don't even know how this idea makes any [expletive] sense but i love it so much It doesn't at all. I say go for it and just antagonize the meatballs that hate fiery Latino players and bring in Zambrano as some kind of double secret probation coach, too
  18. This insane idea delights me to no end.
  19. Dude could be wearing the sharpest suit available and he'd still look like a brutish monster.

  21. Fun fact: the Cubs will be paying 3 managers next season.
  22. Well most of the people who live here are not from here, they are transplants from northern cities. Snowbirds and retired folks. They bring their own fanships with them and I don't think they ever feel the same way about the teams here as the teams from where they are from. That gets overlooked a lot. I love baseball, but I don't give 2 hoots about the Rays. In short, it's ridiculous that Florida has one MLB teams, much less two.
