  1. The Bulls have a good core. They have a history of being competitive and developing players. I have no idea why you think their plan is to just bottom out and pray for a lottery pick.
  2. Stupid board.
  3. Flip Montero and Soler and I am down to clown.
  4. cuz 'trending' Because you're taking the glass if half empty view on every single player. It's completely reasonable to view it in a less then optimistic light. The Bulls aren't contenders for the foreseeable future. (Likely 2 years when Rose/Noah/Pau go away) Then we're back to praying upon ping pong balls and hoping the surly front office can lure a big name free agent. Welcome to NBA hell. The Bulls' success isn't hinged on Gasol and Noah; it's hinged on Butler, Rose and Mirotic. Why you're assuming they're just going to sit pat and simply wait to shed players, especially when the cap is going to exploding, only makes sense in the tedious context of literally every post of yours about the Bulls being some variation of your "basketball hell" bellyaching. We get it; you think the Bulls are eternally doomed and anything short of a championship is an absolute failure to you.
  5. cuz 'trending' Yup.
  6. I had a friend who inexplicably would pronounce Murton's name with an accent, like it was pronounced "Moo-tone." He chalked up it up to, "he looks like a lumberjack, and lumberjacks are Candian so somehow his name is French." It was...annoying.
  7. I know Lilly is a dead-eyed psychopath and I love him.
  8. Oh man, I had that same set. I can only imagine how tired my parents got of watching me do the same tricks. Heh, same here. I thought I was Doctor Strange.
  9. Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. They don't need to win the division to win the freakin' WS. Would you rather her say '[expletive] it, let's splurge. Schwarber and Edwards for the earthly remains of Ichiro!' 'Is Chase Utley still alive? He is? You want Rubi Silva and Brian Schlitter? Well that just won't do. You'll take Pierce Johnson and I won't hear any more of it!' GFD IT you are a GD moron. This might have been one of his worst posts of all time. Thank you for picking up the slack, gentleman. I think I blacked out reading his reply.
  10. IT'S LIKE THE SMITH AND JONES OF HALF THE WORLD.
  11. Hahaha. Only the [expletive] Cardinals. But that's an outstanding bat flip. Yeah, gotta give him credit for that. That guy knows who he is and [expletive] everyone else; he is living that moment.
  12. This is fantastic, not because of the flip itself, but because it [expletive] breaks Jared Weaver. He just snaps. Even Brian McCann is embarrassed for Weaver after watching that.
  13. YESSSSS. I would kill for someone to act as if they had a bum leg and use the bat as a cane only to flick it away halfway to first base, do a Barry Bonds spin, and double-tap their chest. Perfect. Or something like this: http://i.giphy.com/jX0GUKnHqr2s8.gif
  14. Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. They don't need to win the division to win the freakin' WS.
  15. I just like that it looks he's going to strut down the baseline using the bat like a cane before he flicks it away. That would be the most baller [expletive] ever. For all of the crap Sammy got for his hop, he didn't really have a good flip. Makes me a little sad.
  16. Punching AJ alphabet went a really long way toward endearing him to me. That, and we had no idea how bad he really was at defense at that point. Hey, defense shmefense. Fangraphs has his WAR at 2.3, 2.9 and 2.3 in his 3 full years with the Cubs and BR has him at 1.5, 2.0 and 2.3. Ain't no shame in liking Barrett.
  17. Nah; bad burns and could have some nerve damage, but ultimately they don't think it's career-threatening: http://deadspin.com/report-jason-pierre-paul-seriously-damaged-hand-in-fir-1715870503 Best part of the story is the truck full of fireworks.
  18. Whichever year he hit one in early April that lead to them sweeping the Cardinals.
  19. For some reason the one home run I remember just absolutely losing my mind over was when Barrett hit the grand slam very early in the 2004 season against the Cardinals. I was visiting my folks for my mom's birthday and my dad and I just went completely bonkers when this happened:
  20. FWIW, I have heard other chatter in the local media lately (was being presented more as sourced rumor rather than the usual speculation) that the Cubs might be looking actively to trade Castro The part in bold really makes me sad The part I left might be one of the most terrible things ever written.
  21. That's what I was imagining before the season. I love Soler, but I don't think he's going to be any different of a player than he was 30 days ago. I don't imagine he's improved one bit while injured, as it's difficult to get better while not playing. There is a sense of excitement for his return. But Denoforia was actually pretty solid and unless Soler is going to start hitting for more power, not sure there will be much of a difference for a struggling offense. Yeah, both he and Baxter were productive last month and their offensive numbers ultimately came out pretty close to what Soler was doing in May.
  22. Definitely, and I can't believe I can't find any online. That thing was a weapon.
  23. Yes, WSR, Jackson has been SO bad that the odds of him having any kind of sustained run of success as a starter where the Cubs could possibly get anything of value for him are practically nil.
