  1. I'll be he pronounces it with a really ostentatious fake accent, too.
  2. It's weird why people would form opinions around a good 90% of his posts being some kind of halfassed defense of Hendry or trying to temper enthusiasm about the current state of things.
  3. Sleepy Barkley is so goddamned adorable.
  4. you'll be waiting a while. these are a bunch of polished professionals that just happen to be swaggy af Eh, they're not even that; Schwarber is the only with a decent bat flip. I want Baez to succeed just because he'd actually be the "don't give a fullback"-type they need more of. Right now they're kind of a collection of goofy young men having good, clean fun. Dorks, if you will. there's nothing dorky about this team. on the actual field most don't do anything out of the ordinary, in regards to extracurricular things like bat flips(i wish more did). but you don't have to look too hard to see that this team has a hell of a lot of fun and confidence. they know #wearegood and it's more in the nuances than actual actions on the field. http://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/barkley-sleep.gif

  6. I'm still waiting for a true lovable weirdo/psycho to emerge before I can pick my favorite.

  8. That moonshine doesn't make itself yeti's love of guns and racism and drinking ultimately boiled over into a pretty epic meltdown. He was either banned or demanded to be banned and was never seen again. I guess David was in the shop when that went down.
  9. Nobody wants to be known as Jared these days.
  10. I didn't get to see the game, so I missed Schwarber wiping out on first after his 2nd HR: http://m.mlb.com/chc/video/topic/29387502/v471590383/chcphi-schwarber-hits-tworun-shot-for-second-homer/?c_id=chc
  11. The 2004 Cubs were 76-64 at this point and not even in the wild card lead. It's weird how I still automatically think back on that team as being SO dominant until the collapse. That stupid collapse has me remembering like they were sure things and somehow even better than this team, or the 2008 one, which is just stupid nuts.
  12. That has to be the largest gap between amount paid and actual value ever right? What was Mike Hampton worth over the course of his contract? I think you're looking at being worth around $30 million vs. being paid about $90 million. keep in mind that the going rate on wins back then was less By FG's count Howard's been worth about 1.5 WAR in that time. Hampton at least managed a whopping 6.8 or so in his stretch.

  15. That has to be the largest gap between amount paid and actual value ever right? I fortunately can only count a couple of Phillies fans among my friends, but I remember having very, very long conversations with them when the Phillies signed him to the ridiculous and completely pointless extension. With both I assumed they were going to be furious and horrified, but they defended that stupid, stupid deal for years afterwards.
