    Yea Penny on the Knicks was definitely afterthought-ish. I think even the dumbest if Knicks fans saw him as just an ancillary piece as he was pretty old then. Marbury and Francis, and now arguably Rose were big moves meant to reinvigorate the team. Yeah, the idea of Penny playing basketball in 2004, much less any Knicks fan actually getting excited over him at that point, is just depressing.

    Ah, now I see; I completely forgot Penny ended up on the Knicks. I thought it was just dudes who were awesome and then got sidetracked by injuries, though Marbury wouldn't make sense either way.

    Yeah, the Cubs (for the most part) just had some crappy games. The Cardinals, despite their struggles, are a decent offensive team and managed to take the series. It doesn't require some kind of silly storyline to explain.
