  1. As a Cubs fan, I can only think of a few times where we had a pitcher that was so dominant that I woke up excited on the days they started because I knew the Cubs were going to win that game. Second half 2003 Prior and Second half 2015 Arrieta are really in a class of their own. I never would have imagined that he'd be out of baseball 2.5 years later Rich Harden in 2008 was also up there for me like that.
  2. My thought, and maybe I'm misunderstanding how these numbers are being put together, is that a lot of the 31k so far (and hypothetical 32k this summer) are people scooping up $9 tickets on Stubhub from the full slate of season ticket holders, and it's my understanding that they ran through a huge portion of the season ticket wait list in this offseason between people dropping tickets and peoples name getting called and passing on buying them. It seems outrageous that would it would get to a point where there would be no wait list, not a full amount of season ticket holders, etc, but...maybe it wouldn't? Pretty much everyone knows how to use the secondary market websites now, and they're all seeing how cheaply they can go to the game if they use those and let STHs subsidize the Cubs for the rest of the ticket price. But those people showing up for $9 a ticket aren't going to walk up to the gate in a couple years and pay the face value if the thousands of season tickets available on Stubhub for every game starts to dry up. Aren't the attendance numbers based on paid tickets? I know back in the day the NL used to base it on gate attendance but I thought that changed (or maybe I have it in reverse) It's gotta be paid tickets. The game I went to they were claiming that there were more than 28,000 people there....despite it spitting rain almost the whole time. Bulllllllllllllllll horsefeathers. There were MAYBE 20,000 people there at the most.
  3. On the other hand: horsefeathers Ozuna.
  4. Wanna know which anchor is dragging down my team, but I'm too lazy to look it up. I'll just blame Trout for kicks; whatever he has, he should have twice that.
  5. Everyone is the hero in their own story. I think this holds true for most people, but some people certainly know they're evil and what they're doing is evil. Putin knows he's an horsefeathers, the "bad guy" and he simply doesn't care. Same thing with Trump. Depends on how deep they are into the conspiracy horsefeathers. Tons of those folks legitimately believe (or are convincing themselves) that Trump or Putin are actually saving kidnapped children from Satanic cabals, or purging the globalist Deep State, or destroying the bio-labs that created COVID, etc., etc..
  6. It's genuinely terrifying how many of these guys see being a horsefeathering horrible human being = being a straight white male. yeah they see a violent straight white sex pest and immediately personalize his actions. but then 15 seconds later will be like "its not safe to be a white male!" Well no horsefeathers buddy! Imagine reading a news story about a murderer and then thinking, "cripes, it's like a guy can't even be a murderer these days!!!" Extreme example, but like you said, who the horsefeathers reads about what Bauer was accused of and what he admitted to and then worries that they might be next? Apparently waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more horsefeathering people than I want to even think about.
  7. exactly this plus, and i meet these guys on the regular because Oklahoma, "we can't know the facts in this case, and society is increasingly siding with the accusers, creating a slippery slope where before long it won't be safe to be a straight white male." It's genuinely terrifying how many of these guys see being a horsefeathering horrible human being = being a straight white male. Like, it's not even that most of them think a guy like Bauer didn't do something along the lines of what he's accused of; it's that they think it's unfair that he face any kind of criticism for it at all.
  8. "BUT HE WAS FOUND INNOCENT!!!!:!!111:
  9. The Ricketts are thinking the same damn thing.
  10. Ross doesn't know how lineups or the DH works.
  11. Went to the game; my first Cubs game in about 3 years and my first time back in Chicago in over 2 years. It horsefeathering sucked!
  12. what would be the lameo dirtbag move in this situation Having to pitch for the Cubs.
  13. I mean, commercial breaks are structured around the breaks in the game, not the other way around. You go to a non-broadcast minor league or independent game, you're still getting extended breaks between innings or pitching changes (plus wouldn't most minor league games still be on local radio with commercials, too?).
  14. Drop Yoshi Tsutsugo from bench. Add Trout. Thanks.
  15. Yeah, he was trying to catch those without the list being updated, so just a mistake. You guys should swap him for Trout anyway, which we can do after noon central time today.

  17. He had less than 10 home runs last year.
  18. Awesome, thanks! So gotta wait 3 days for the Troutening...
  19. Oh, [expletive] me for not thinking of Trout as a bench choice. So the bench is different than the past, right? We can make moves on that prior to the ASB?
  20. Sorry; that was me. I think it's good now?
