  1. Hey, you've sold me. I'm basing this on all of my Yankee-lovin' friends who can't shut up about how much they hate A-Rod because he "never comes through when it counts." If it's widespread enough, hell, I wish Hendry wasn't dopey enough to not at least take a look.
  2. As it stands, Walker is this team's best option for leadoff OR #2 hitter this year and next. Trading him when he's so cheap will never stop striking me as being awfully shortsighted when he fills so many needs.
  3. The Yankees LOVE overpaying for older, past their prime pitchers these days. Give them Murton, Cedeno, Maddux, Marshall and Hill for A-Rod. Man, I love video game trades.
  4. As fuzzy as "clutch" is, the main reason he's getting so hated up there is because he's essentially the definition of "anti-clutch." So he'd fit in perfectly!
  5. Slap Walker Barrett Jock Aramis Cedeno Murton Hairston/Mabry/etc. pitcher Ech.
  6. Wood has started one game.
  7. That sounds much more like Dempster.
  8. Along those lines, why is anyone still talking about the brawl, especially anyone on the Cubs?
  9. What if a pair of star crossed lovers from each family combined the two? My God. We'd all be doomed...
  10. Todd Walker. He's cheap, he gets on base, he takes pitches and he's functioned well in the role before. Screw the myopic "a leadoff guy has to be fast!" mentality the Cubs have beaten into the ground since Baker got here. too bad there is like a 1 percent chance of him coming back Which is an even stupider Cubs' move than when they were looking to dump him last year. I'm praying they've learned their lesson. The offense they need to find will NOT be filled by a 2B. And if anyone brings up Soriano, we're gonna rumble!
  11. He has 3 sons. I might be a bit off on the ages, but in the area of 22, 20, and 14. I suppose that's better than what I was picturing...a herd of kids all under 10 years of age swarming out of the dugout, screaming and swearing like their father. It's still [expletive] either way. I enjoyed it when the thread title looked like it was saying "a cobra bit JJones." I had to pause for a second with that one.
  12. God, I loathe that song. If I could choose between Lee being magically healed this instant or punching the singer in the nards, I'd have to sit down and REALLY think about it. And THEN punch the guy in the nards.
  13. How many kids does Ozzie have and how old are they? I'm getting some really strange images trying to picture this whole debacle in my head.
  14. Todd Walker. He's cheap, he gets on base, he takes pitches and he's functioned well in the role before. Screw the myopic "a leadoff guy has to be fast!" mentality the Cubs have beaten into the ground since Baker got here.
  15. Rothschild's coaching could only be worse if he lined up all of the Cubs starters and shot them each in the head.
  16. No, Cora the third base coach did. In the conext of the White Sox, that makes a lot more sense. I have no idea who the base coaches are for the Sox, and the original post made it sound like one of Ozzie's kids is named "Cora."
  17. Forgive me if this has been up before, but Dusty has an "official" website?!? http://www.dustybaker.com/ Some of the highlights... http://www.dustybaker.com/images/Dusty%20Cub%20bat.jpg Dusty, dude...quit using all of your mojo on your video series! It's clearly on empty when you show up for the Cubs' season...
  18. I like how Darren Baker is much of a non-entity in this story as his father is when it comes to onfield drama. OK, so let me get this straight...Ozzie's kid bit Jacque Jones? That sounds absolutely insane. Granted, it's Ozzie...but how is this not all over sports TV?
  19. The Cubs certainly helped improve their former players. That was nice of them.
  20. Man, I am simply sweltering under all these layers of improvement. Cubs are playing .500 baseball in their last 2 games! HIGH FIVE!!!
  21. BRING ON BOROWSKI! Heh...so awesome. Between this and Ozzie slamming Hill, I'm enjoying other manager's reactions to the Cubs's suckiness more than anything else.
  22. Well played, Marlins...well played. They're sticking the Cubs' noses in it, and they should.
  23. I'm honestly hoping they lose every single series for the rest of the year.
