OK, Marshall held the opposing team to a single run for 7 full innings. One. Just the one. What more can you ask of a starting pitcher besides allowing them to score none? Except even that's not enough, since this team can't even manage a run themselves. And this is happening again and again this season. So what if Prior and Wood pitch like Prior and Wood? This cesspool of an offense will implode behind them and they'll probably get 1 win out of every 4 or so they SHOULD get. At best, a healthy Wood and Prior keep this team from losing 100 games. Whoopedee-doo. Unless they also come back clubbing the ball like He-Man, pitchin' don't score runs. And Lee is just one guy. He's not going to do what he did last year. Ideally, he'll hit around .310, if he's healthy. That's helpful, and they'll probably win a few extra games, but nothing significant that's even close to resembling a run. Lee can't put guys on base ahead of him, and the inevitable tandem of Womack and Pierre is gonna suck just as bad with Lee behind them as it does now.
