In a perfect world, Kerry and the Cubs would come to some kind of deal where they'd shut him down this year and FULLY rehab him from the surgery, and they can sign him relatively cheap for one year next season and see what he can do. If that was the case, I'm fully confident Wood would come back next year and either be a good to great starter or bullpen thrower. But this is not that world.

So we see games where the Cubs can get around a dozen singles and bring nobody home...then they finally hit three homeruns in a single game and NOTHING else?!? Jerkstores.

On my birthday, June 14th, my girlfriend got me a baseball signed by Derrek Lee in a beautiful glass case. Since then, this horrible team has somehow gotten even worse. That doesn't seem right.

I feel bad for Len and Bob having to have guests up there when this stinking team is so God-killingly awful.

The sad thing is, even if he had pitched better than his best, this team was still doomed to sniff failure until the end of the season. Yeah, I know it's only one game, but come the funk ON. 6 runs in the 1st inning? 8 total? And Woods 1st start was a mess, too...can this organization do ANYTHING right? Yeah, I know, the pitchers need to step it up, but really, we see plenty of other organizations bring guys back from injuries. Nobody expected all start pitching the first time back, but this is ourageous.

Ha. So true. I was listening to the pregame on WGN radio today and Dusty was giving all sorts of excuses for the loss yesterday. He was saying they weren't really hitting the ball hard against Maddux, just a bunch of bloops. Then he said the Cubs were hitting the ball hard, but they were just hitting it right at people. Pretty much the token excuse this year. "Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a b@#$!?" That's all I can think when he spouts that inane "hit it right at the wrong people" excuse. Yeah, no crap, dummy! That's how people are caught/thrown out! Quit acting like people catching the ball is so unfair and unusual!
