  1. Because he has the mgical ability to hurl a ball with moderate speed with his left hand.
  2. You gotta be freakin' kidding me. I could not possibly hate the people running this club any more than I do right now. Why exactly? All I see there is that the baseball people watching him think he is throwing fine and 100%, but he's lost a little on his fastball. Prior thinks if he keeps pitching the velocity will eventually come back. Nobody knows for sure whether it will or not. How long should they really wait before accepting him for who he is whenever they call him up? I'd give him another start or two, but I don't think he should get 10 starts or anything like that. I should have been more clear. It's the "whispers" part that bugs me. Like they're getting ready to start smearing him if it looks they want to run to him out of town for being "soft." I'm all for taking as long as it takes to get him back to fightin' form. I've stated numerous times they should shut down the idea of him coming to the bigs this year and just work at getting him to 100% for 2007 and beyond. He and Z need to be the pitching anchors.
  3. I'm taking full credit.
  4. I'm more impressed with Walker as a 1st baseman than at 2nd.

  6. It's not wrong. I love it when they win, but I definitely see the silver lining in losing these days, and losing BIG. Only absolute failure will ultimately drive McHendust out of town.
  7. In my delusional trade of the Cubs trying to get A-Rod, I think Novoa would fit nicely into my "Wood/Aramis/Jacque/reliever" package. THE DREAM WILL NEVER DIE!!!
  8. Wow, I am in an incredibly good mood. Marmol is better than Prozac!
  9. I've really enjoyed Novoa as part of the 'pen...he had some rough spots last year, but even then it looked like he could be a really solid member of the bullpen. It feels like he's being shown lately...got a feeling the Cubs are definitely trying to get competing teams interested in trading for some relief help.
  10. All further Hill talk is banned. His stench will only taints the glory that is Marmol! Yeah, yeah, tiny sample size...it's still nice to see another rookie get in there and do great out of the gate, especially with Marshall coming up this year. If Marmol can show he's ready to be a starter from here on out, he opens up a TON of options for the Cubs...Maddux can be dealt, Wood can be showcased in the pen, lotta money freed up to get some quality FA's in the off season... Marmol, I love you.
  11. Damn, I hate that I missed most of this game because of work! Great work, Marmol! Welcome to the Cubs!
  12. "Me fail english? That's unpossible!"
  13. If he wasn't walking so many batters, I'd be less worried. Tired Z + lots of walks...bad combo. He pulled it off today, but man, he was playing with fire.
  14. Anyone who's watching the game, what speed is Dempster hitting with his pitches?
  15. Murton swung at the 1st pitch? Gameday says it was a called strike.
  16. I am fully prepared to be MURTOWNED right now.
  17. Time for Aramis to do something awesome.
