    I'd love to get ARod for Z under the right circumstances, but saying Zambrano can't throw strikes is absurd. Not really. Z led the majors in walks (115) last season. I know that...that's the main reason besides his back issues that I would trade him. But he also had a ton of strike outs. You gotta throw strikes to have those.

    It's alright. We're all in crappy moods. First the Cubs get shelled and then we find out Z's contract talks are put on hold. Not that great a day for Cubs' fans (not many days are). QFT No, it's THIS PLACE that puts people in crappy moods. You see why I left for a month!?! Sheesh. :wink: A month? Hahahaha Hahahaha X eleventy billion.

    I wouldn't mind that at all. Or those guys could be spun off ideally for someone like Cabrera. And again, this isn't just over today's game. Today's game is just inspiration for more discussion along these lines. Yes, it's one game...but it's one game that highlights things that have been problems often for him, and very likely could be even more problematic down the line.

    Is Z so unreasonable that he wouldn't understand how something this huge for the entire team might throw off the schedule of his signing? I'm not saying Hendry couldn't have gotten this done sooner, but for all we know Z and his agent were also riding things out to the end to see they could get.

    His increasing walks each year are very worrisome. And those back troubles are going to get worse as he gelts older and it becomes harder to keep the weight down. I love the guy when he's on and his passion is admirable, but I'd love nothing more than to have something happen like a healthy Prior back and Hill to keep being awesome so Z is ultimately superfluous and can net us a juicy haul while his name is still what it is. And no, this isn't all just because of today.

    I would but I have a mid-term, can't afford a 0 on that. You have a horrible heartless teacher. I'm skipping the following Monday for the home opener. I'm much more concerned about seeing that live than the away opener.

I'm not gonna say all booing is good...and of course any kind of a racist threat or insult is inexcusable...but I don't get why booing is so often automatically equated with "racist fans" if the guy getting booed isn't white. Like everyone who boos is a racist.

    I'm still rooting for them to lose...the Cubs' huge opening day victories against the Reds the last two years ending contrasting hideously with how badly the rest of the season turned out. LOSE HARD AND THEN WIN IT ALL, CUBS!!!
