    Great to see Hill bounce back like this. I don't care how people try and spin it, Lou taking Hill out when he did was just stupid. It wasn't the end of the game, let your ace who is basically cruising keep on dominating. Maybe if there was someone on 3rd with only 1 or 0 outs, but a guy on 3rd and 2 outs? Come on, Lou. You know how bad this bullpen can be. Stick with the hot hand and gamble (I know, horrible odds) that one of these bi-polar bats suddenly comes to life.

    God, it's such a remote long shot, or at least it seems like it is, but if he could come back and be that reliever he was a couple years ago...man...he could be the hero of the season.

    Barrett is bordering on being completely useless at this point. I think his offenseive numbers are decent at home, but he's Neifi-esque on the road...combine that with his typical bad to worse dfense and he's making Blanco look like a MUCH better option at this point.

    I swear, in a recent game thread, people were trying to tell me that the Cub's stats this year regarding losing one run games meant nothing. Those people are liars.

    He had a nice game yesterday when he got the start. So why does he forget to how to hit when he comes off the bench? And what about the starts where he's done nothing? I understand he's in a crappy spot, but hey, these are supposed to be pros...if it's "mental," suck it up. Frank Thomas said it took him years to adjust from not playing in the field to just grabbing a bat and walking to the plate. If the "right-handed Ted Williams" has trouble with it, I can't imagine it would somehow be easier for Murton. Fair enough.

    where were you when Murton was 2-3 with a walk yesterday? give me a break I know he's had a few games this year, but he's had a bunch of really crappy starts, and he seems completey useless coming off the bench.

    Look, I want Murton to play as much as anyone, but he's really doing his best to argue his way out of his starts. I know he's young, but come on...how does someone regress THAT much?

    Ugh...I know that scored one, but they're lucky that wasn't a DP. Even when we score it looks hideous and weak.

    Len pointed out that in Marshall's 10 losses, he has received a grand total of 10 runs of offensive support from his team. Now, I'm not saying that Marshall is some dynamo pitcher missing out on a ton of chances...just that that stat makes me sad.

    To be honest, they were always around. Sucky Cubs just happen to be better than the Suckier Pirates and Suckiest Nationals. Not last year If last years team was an F, this one is a D+ at best. Considering the amount of resources that were spent on the team and the fact that the injuries have been minimal, shouldn't this be an F as well? I only give them the higher grade because they'll somehow win more games and I think the starting pitching is better.
