  1. 3 awesome innings, one hideous inning that was narrowly not a disaster.
  2. I think chances are good Marmol is again the best reliever. He's the youngest and most talented of the group. At worst, I think he'll be a close 2nd to Howry, unless Wood completely dominates while staying healthy all year. Think about how many middle relievers, even closers consistantly put up numbers like Marmol did last year. Marmol doesn't have to duplicate those numbers to still be one of the best relievers around.
  3. IT WAS A SPLIT SQUAD GAME.
  4. I see that the A's came back in their final at bat and won the game. I see that Sweet Swinging Billy started a thread complaining about a blown save. That's ridiculous, they need to ship him out now! I know it's only Spring Training but there's no excuse for such threads. A good posting attitude starts now. I hope Modzilla explodes.
  5. Too bad. That's ultimately gonna end up wasting him.
  6. I'm just saying Ryan Theriot sucks at being interviewed almost as badly as he sucks at baseball.
  7. wow. Perhaps Fuk is a bad-ass at Karate. Perhaps Ryan Theriot is an idiot.
  8. Wuertz apparently spends the winters writing with a feather quill pen. And doing nothing else.
  9. Make them throw in a prospect say...a Scott Sizemore, or a Matt Joyce, then I would. But trading a young, cheap valueable arm for a free agent to be EXPENSIVE SS is NOT an ideal trade, IMO. So again, if Detroit is willing to throw in a solid prospect with Renteria, then yeah I would Marmol for Renteria/prospect. But the first goal, should be to trade Dempster before considering moving Marmol. Marmol is a reliever. Renteria fills a massive gaping hole. It's a no-brainer. Renteria making $9 mill in 2008, with a $11 mill club option for 2009 Marmol making well prolly less then $400k. You're right, it's a no brainer. No deal. I much rather rather wait for a player like Khalil Greene, or even move Marmol for Greene, then Marmol for Renteria. Look, neither trade is going to happen. Hypothetically, though, the cost between the two is moot. A guy like Renteria is infinitely more valuable than a relief pitcher, even one as good as Marmol. A team like the Cubs can pay. Pay for what you need.

  11. Kosuke at #3 never made much sense to me. Even if hits near or at his ideal projections, those powers estimates don't really jive with the #3 slot.
  12. I'm surprised you made it sound like it took so long for someone to yell out a smartass comment. Those bathrooms seem like a constant session of insults and jokes and generally loud comments.
  13. I love Z, but those ever-growing walk and HR numbers can't be ignored.
  14. Just go in your cup after you finish your beer like a real fan would. Yeah, but the danger with that is that you can't tell the difference between the pee-cups and the cups filled with Old Style or Budweiser. SELL BETTER BEER, dag nabbit. Jeepers, you'd think the yuppies in the bleachers would have had the Cubs sell Blue Moon by now! Man, the word filter turns "g-dammit" into "dag nabbit?" Ouch. I just wish Wrigley had more of a variety of beers. They don't need to get rid of Bud and Old Style, but come on, mix it up.

  16. Man, if they do away with the troughs in the stadium revamps, I'll raise hell. Just make more bathrooms and longer troughs...so much quicker than dealing with urinals.
  17. It's as if someone foolishly stuck a cork into one of the pipes.
  18. We're holding you to this. If it doesn't come true...ATTICA!!! ATTICA!!! ATTICA!!!
  19. Wow, THAT is why Patterson isn't tracked at 2B anymore.
