  1. This is more like a list of names LLF remembers playing with the Cubs for brief periods of time since he started following the team than a list of one time star players. No kidding. It's like the Cubs have only existed for 5 years with that list.
  2. I don't see any group on this board that would have an "I told you so, jerkfaces" explosion of Sean had a bad game. I don't see how this thread would go bad if that happened Agreed. There isn't anyone here that wants to see him do poorly.
  3. I laughed at my TV screen when Thorne said he "looped it to LF". yeah, i knew that was long gone when it came off the bat. No kidding. That would have been gone in Wrigley.
  4. It was rather impressive. You'll probaly have to wait until the game is over for video. It'll be on Cubs.com for sure and probably the #1 Web Gem for sure.
  5. Man, it is disheartening to see Lee's average drop like it has. He needs a couple days off. But that's a good way to turn it around!
  6. This happens to CFers when a ball has spin and slice on it. Sweet. He's definatley a Cub now. He did what Edmonds does. Bourn probably catches that standing under it. Bad angle+no speed=omg what defense!!!111! And lol @ Bob even thinking that was anywhere close to as good as the Johnson catch. What a joke. So the Astros announcers called it an astounding catch, yet Cubs fans can't get over the fact that Edmonds actually did something to help the club....kinda pathetic if you ask me. If Z can forgive the guy why can't we? You quoted a Reds fan.
  7. Apparently misplaced his power. Yeah. Good thing we finally got ourselves that power hitting RF we've been missing the last few years. Some people are never happy... I'm perfectly happy with our RF. I just like that we're winning and everyone loves Fukudome and he's hit for less power than Murton, who apparently didn't have enough power when he was in the majors. I had no problem with Murton before. I don't have a problem with him now...just pointing out that nearly all of his XBH power suddenly up and vanished. 4 doubles and a triple in the last week. Maybe it's making a comeback. Here's hoping.
  8. It don't matter, CT, 'cause we can win more. Still, it's more comfortable if the other teams lose. I like it when the division is good. It erases that stigma of, "yeah the Cubs are in first, but its in the lowly NL Central". Shows that the Cubs are the class act in a classy division. I would prefer the Cubs beat up on a crappy divison and win it easily.

  10. Apparently misplaced his power. Yeah. Good thing we finally got ourselves that power hitting RF we've been missing the last few years. Look, nowhere did I say Fukudome is a better power player, but if you're stacking up Murton this season and Fukudome this season, I'm glad they have Fuku. I've always liked Murton as a player, but his almost complete absence of power both in his limited MLB time and in the minors this season is rather disconcerting.
  11. Apparently misplaced his power.
  12. Just the other day after Soriano ripped a couple, ESPN put up a meaningless graphic showing Jacque as one of the last leadoff hitters to have a multi-hit game with 2 HR's, back in 2003.
  13. Maybe he just wallowed in pies and tears over the last 2 weeks.
  14. Thursday. Along with the rest of the team. Then hopefully they win the first two games of this series and Lee can get an extra day off.
  15. He's consistently been the one that seems to be most effected negatively by the cooler weather, so his slow start power-wise happening during an extended chilly spring seems about right.
  16. Chill? I dont see anybody thats having a raging fit, just some questioning of some pretty dumb moves. Right. They are the hottest team in baseball and we are picking apart every little mistake. Good news is that we might only get to do that a total of 70 or so times this season. My point is that you should go and find a manager who doesn't make this sort of mistake every now and again over 162 games. I don't think its been a consistent issue. Most of the things brought up in this thread have been consitent issues.
  17. I'm confused...you correctly acknowledge that Wuertz didn't throw that many pitches, but then inexplicably say he's out for 3-4 days. Was he throwing a bowling ball? Lou makes some dumb moves, but I don't see why Wuertz couldn't go after 2 days off, or even after 1 day off if it's an emergency.
  18. Where's BudHouse's hysterical thread about "sham closer" Carlos Marmol?
  19. Looked safe to me there, but when I was in the bathroom right after, Pat and Ron were talking on the radio about how when they looked at the replay, it looked like Soto missed or was blocked from the plate.
  20. Dogs are howling and then dropping dead all over the city.
