That's not really the same at all. People taking a longer than expected time to come back from injury is completely different than expecting several established hitters to perform after a 5 game slump. It's not just a 5 game slump. It's been a, for the most part, season-long on the road "slump."

I'll let you use your imagination as to what "blank" stands for. Given the recent (somewhat vague) pledges by the mods to crack down on "swearing," someone might get all up in Derwood's shiznit for fake-swearing. Hmmmm Dead man posting.

I hope I'm wrong, but probably when they're playing the Brewers next week. I really don't see how the Cubs are going to suddenly not be terrible on the road, especially playing the Brewers at home when they're playing VERY well.

I hate to say it but i kind of agree. I think this team doesn't have it. And yes mark me for saying if we do "reach" the postseason because i don't see this team doing anything. I'll happily eat crow, but the road woes have been there all along and are only getting worse.

The collapse starts here. Yeah, it's doom & gloom....I don't care. They're not going to magically not suck on the road. The schedule works against them with those road games at the end. It's 2004.

Either Marquis implodes with the Cubs finally scoring some runs and they lose something stupid like 9-6 or Marquis pitches another gem and they lose like last night. No in between.

You act as if the Phillies have enough to even get the Rockies to the table, much less acquire Holliday. The Phillies just traded their 2/4th best prospects for an innings eater, and this while their system was't exactly overflowing with premium talent. So, you can rest easy, Holliday won't be going to Philadelphia. Did you miss the line in the original post that said the Phillies talks made the most progress? Yes, it later went on to say that those talks had died, but from the article, it is clear that the Phillies had more than enough to get the Rockies "to the table." And then the deal died because the Phillies couldn't give the Rockies what they wanted. The end. Unless they involve other teams, which is very unlikely given how little they have to offer, Holliday isn't going to the Phillies.
