  1. What? You do realize a rundown has taken way too long when the batter makes it to 2nd, right?
  2. That's not really the same at all. People taking a longer than expected time to come back from injury is completely different than expecting several established hitters to perform after a 5 game slump. It's not just a 5 game slump. It's been a, for the most part, season-long on the road "slump."
  3. Careful. The new regime is likely to go apecrap over such shenanigans, what with them hating fun and all. Huh? Guh? Zah? Whu? "FTH" is often an acronym standing for "blank the hell?". I'll let you use your imagination as to what "blank" stands for. Given the recent (somewhat vague) pledges by the mods to crack down on "swearing," someone might get all up in Derwood's shiznit for fake-swearing. Hmmmm Dead man posting.

  6. I hope I'm wrong, but probably when they're playing the Brewers next week. I really don't see how the Cubs are going to suddenly not be terrible on the road, especially playing the Brewers at home when they're playing VERY well.
  7. It's these kinds of posts that really help new members feel welcome. Good grief. You're right. I should have followed it with "welcome to the board!"
  8. I hate to say it but i kind of agree. I think this team doesn't have it. And yes mark me for saying if we do "reach" the postseason because i don't see this team doing anything. I'll happily eat crow, but the road woes have been there all along and are only getting worse.
  9. The collapse starts here. Yeah, it's doom & gloom....I don't care. They're not going to magically not suck on the road. The schedule works against them with those road games at the end. It's 2004.
  10. What happens when you sit a couple of pitchers each for 10 days? This.
  11. By watching the games and how they act while playing and not playing. By listening to what they say. Is this serious?
  12. I swear Lee was going to swing at the first pitch no matter what the way he went at that one.
  13. You could have said absolutely nothing and it would have carried an equal amount of weight in actualy tracking how well Theriot has or hasn't done.
  14. ... So...Theriot makes you get on your knees? And we should be jealous since Cedeno...doesn't? This is uncomfortable and weird.
  15. *Backs slowly out of the room*
  16. Add him to the poll, dammit. http://youtube.com/watch?v=6QPGqqLYSjg No  .........Hamil's Joker is too similar to his Goblin (either Green or Hob) character from the Spider Man cartoon series from the 90s. Who the hell wached that?
  17. Either Marquis implodes with the Cubs finally scoring some runs and they lose something stupid like 9-6 or Marquis pitches another gem and they lose like last night. No in between.
  18. Man, an effective Guzman out of the bullpen down the stretch would be ginormously huge.
  19. You act as if the Phillies have enough to even get the Rockies to the table, much less acquire Holliday. The Phillies just traded their 2/4th best prospects for an innings eater, and this while their system was't exactly overflowing with premium talent. So, you can rest easy, Holliday won't be going to Philadelphia. Did you miss the line in the original post that said the Phillies talks made the most progress? Yes, it later went on to say that those talks had died, but from the article, it is clear that the Phillies had more than enough to get the Rockies "to the table." And then the deal died because the Phillies couldn't give the Rockies what they wanted. The end. Unless they involve other teams, which is very unlikely given how little they have to offer, Holliday isn't going to the Phillies.
  20. Howry running hot and cold as he has ben is area of conern, especially coupled with Marmol very possibly blowing up agan and Wuertz having been inexplicably banished yet again.
