  1. I hate Wrigleyville. That neighborhood is the reason there aren't more night games and why any construction and remodeling that needs to be done at the park is a drawn-out, tortuous process, if it gets done at all. The main thing I wat for the Cubs is significantly expanding seating capacity. It's ridiculous they top out around 42k when they could clearly get so much more. I want all of that extra revenue to be available to ideally keep the payroll high or help it go even higher.
  2. It's that your "lucky tacos" come from Taco Bell. And then you pack on the horrible Old Style and awful Wrigley nachos to go with it. Plus, you make sure there's no lettuce to help push all of that gunk out of you. In short, your anus is probably classifed as a WMD on opening day.
  3. Yep. Soriano does the "how many outs?" thing too. He makes for a surprising amount of entertainment. The dude gets bored pretty easily and likes to have fun with the bleacher bums. Seriously, say what you will about him as a player - but he's hilarious out there with those fans. He's one of the best about giving balls to kids, too. Yeah, in all my years of going to games he's definitely been the most fan-friendly player out there.
  4. What the hell is wrong with the world?
  5. I'd appreciate that apology to not be in the form of a question.
  6. Yeah I got it. I was only kidding. Hence the emoticon. Then sign up for Teh Funny 101 because that was turrrrrible.
  7. It's better than Christmas. Anyone acting like they don't care about opening day deserves at least a 24-hour ban.
  8. Might want to register for Irony 101 next semester.
  9. Same here. I'm not sure if it's just the heartbreak of the past two years or if there are other factors. Agree. I'm really underwhelmed with excitement for tomorrow. I mean, sure it'll be nice to watch Cubs baseball again (maybe), but I can hardly say I'm excited. What a bunch of sucks. It's baseball, for God's sake. Stop embarassing yourselves.
  10. I wish that they could have gotten the land where Cabrini was. Then the stadium would have had the Skyline righ along the outfield.
  11. The man's right. Wrigley is a dump. It needs to be gutted and totally reworked at the very least.
  12. Still light years beyond Neckbeard.
  13. Holy God. Though I'll miss Neckbeard.
  14. this is a case where using conventional methods (i.e. actually watching) rather than stats probably wins. that or just using simple logic, of course. I'll just repeat some of that simple logic then:
  15. Excellent.
  16. LULZ at someone willfully naming themsevles after Old Style and then calling someone else a moron.
  17. I picked Darryl. He's never not made me laugh.

  19. Not as cool as this. I always have to stop myself after looking at links like that because I start looking for other great 90's NBA moments and it just makes me realized how I spoiled I was basically growing up as an NBA fan at that time. My first real strong sports memory is the '93 finals and I just remember being so upset that it looked like the Bulls were going to lose game 6, that I stormed off missing Paxson's shot live :( . . . And then the Bulls won 3 more championships. unreal. Yeah, it's really not fair to have been a young Bulls fan for all that. There's nowhere to go but down with both the Bulls and the NBA itself. I started really paying attention to the Bulls in '89 when I was 10 thanks to my Dad and it was just off and running from there. I definitely took it for granted when I was growing up. I thought it was so easy to win a title. In fact, I remember thinking that the Bulls would make the playoffs in 99 when the team was gutted and studs like Kukoc, Randy Brown and Corey Carr were leading the team. Yeah, reality sucker punched me pretty hard. By 2001 I had mostly tuned out of following the NBA.

  22. I can never do that. I basically grew up hating the Pistons.
