  1. Because he knew, man. Because he just knew.
  2. Hmmmm, my LeBron outta Cleveland theory seems to have taken a hit with a pretty awesome trade.
  3. My guess is that they'll use Theriot as the "clubhouse canacer" excuse if the team doesn't make the playoffs this year.
  4. It's one thing to have a sense that the Cubs could very easily lose the series and another to profess to be a fan of the team and go out of your way to [expletive] all over other fans' optimism before the [expletive] game has even been played time and time again. Yeah, I remember going into Game 7 myself feeling like it wasn't gonna go well, but I didn't spend the time trying to make everyone around me as miserable as possible before the first pitch was even thrown. What's even the point in watching or following the games?
  5. Hopefully not. The surgery Guzman had done is typically very minor. Lilly had it in the middle of the season and only missed about 3 weeks.
  6. my logic is perfectly sound. If the Bulls played like crap the rest of the way, which is what would happen if they lost Kirk, fish, and tyrus for nothing, Noah and rose would look a lot worse as franchise building blocks. Talent doesn't exist in some vacuum separate from a team's record. This is ridiculously shortsighted.
  7. It's not all that surprising that erik would be the same bowl full of wonderful when watching a game with him in real life as he is in the game threads.
  8. Psssssst. Losing weight doesn't shrink your frame.
  9. If they were smart they'd trade him to the Bulls for the gamechanging dynamic duo of Hinrich and Thomas. Too bad they already missed out on the majesty that is John Salmons.
  10. And hey, if the Bulls do tank it after the deadline, boom, better draft pick. It's very easily argued that the worse this team is after the deadline the better it is for their future.
  11. Yes, towards the end of the 2010 season when it briefly existed. On the way to ideally signing two impact FA's that drastically changes the team's makeup. Nevermind, I heard Bosh just called a press conference to say that there is no way in hell that he'll play in Chicago without John Salmons. The Bulls are screwed.
  12. Nope, impossible. The Bulls have to actually handicap themselves to get better. To hell with luring players in with a big market and a lot of money and a player like Rose; THEY'LL ONLY SIGN IF WE HAVE MCGRADY. OH NO, THAT DIDN'T WORK BECAUSE FOR SOME CRAZY REASON THE BULLS HAVE SIGNED MCGRADY TO A 3-YEAR DEAL. Any other crazy theories we can pack into this one?
  13. salmons/tyrus/hinrich are not the difference between a playoff berth and tanking. When Salmons and Hinrich TRULY sucked at the beginning of the year and Tyrus was hurt this was legitimately one of the worst teams in the NBA. Basically Johnson, Pargo, Brown, et. al. are going to give you early Kirk/Salmons level of suck and if you have no Tyrus either you're looking at a really bad product. Probably better than that early season funk because Rose is rocking but still awful. IT WON'T [expletive] MATTER. Jesus Christ, you really think the big free agents are going to make middling, average players the dealbreakers as to why they'll come here? OF COURSE NOT. All they're gonna care about are Rose and Noah and Deng and maybe Gibson. The rest will be dealt with through an additional signings and the draft. The Bulls are not looking to trade difference makers. They'd be temporarily going from being an average team at best to a below average team. It's not a dealbreaker.
  14. You're looking at a bad team with them. I think this is a 45 win team as currently constructed. The schedule is pretty soft from here on out. It's not THAT bad a team. They're a very average team at best with a few bright spots here or there. Pointing out the relative ease of their schedule is not helping any argument that this team is good. There's only a few players on this team that FA's are going to give a [expletive] about, and none of them are the guys the Bulls are trying to trade and the ones that matter will all be here for the forseeable future.
  15. "Man, I was gonna sign with the Bulls but then they opted to trade Salmons/Hinirch! [expletive] this! I don't care if it does free up money to sign a player much more useful than Salmons/Hinrich! You fucked up, Bulls!" This is such a ridiculous, self-defeating debate. THE BULLS ARE NOT A GOOD TEAM RIGHT NOW. No FA with half a functioning brain is thinking that they'll only come here if the Bulls hang on to some combination of Tyrus, Hinrich or Salmons when it's clear to everyone that the Bulls are making room to add players MUCH better than any of those three.
  16. You're looking at a bad team with them. You're making up these ridiculous scenarios to justify propping up things that are probably waaaaaay down on a FA's list of what is going to make them decide for or against a team. The most important things is that Bulls are a big market, they have the money and they have a good young core with Deng, Rose, Noah and Gibson. They'll hopefully have enough money to sign a big FA and also another impact player. They'll have their draft picks. Trust me, shedding some average players that causes a team that is bad right now do worse when it's obvious that this is happening just to make room for GOOD players isn't going to drive away the FA's. You're being paranoid over this.
  17. That would be pointless. You're not going to budge, but you're vastly overstating the difference between the Bulls now and a "gutted" Bulls minus several average at best players. They still have their most important players, which is what's going to matter most to anyone they sign besides the money.
  18. And it's not nearly as huge a difference as you make it out to be.
  19. And what I'm saying is it's ridiculous to act like the same thing is going to happen now. FA's aren't going to suddenly tun on the Bulls because Salmons and Hinirch (hopefully) and Tyrus are gone.
  20. So the Bulls have to trick the FA's into thinking they have a good team? Because they don't have a good team. So if you really believe what you're spouting, you're cruising for a letdown since the Bulls are not a good team. They managed to get hot at the right time last year and faced a beat up Celtics team. They're not good, and they weren't good. They're mediocre at best.
  21. Fantastic job with 8 points, Kirk. Really, great job.
  22. Rose still not nearly getting the calls that he should.
  23. i mean, i'd prefer they make the playoffs, i just dont really care because it seems so futile. they aren't coming close to a title so it just feels so meaningless to me. plus outside of rose/noah and maybe deng at times, this team isn't that likeable. hinrich is annoying, salmons was annoying, VDN is an idiot, tyrus is a douche, etc. when i check the scores, i'm much more concerned with the performance of deng/rose/noah than i am with the actual score. i want to win a title, and i dont believe that anything that happens over the rest of this season (other than trades) increase the likelihood of us coming close to one any time soon. i'm really excited for the offseason. Same here. It's not like I'm rooting for them to fail, but I'm not living and dying with each game like they have to make the playoffs again this season. I think people acting like the Bulls have to do well to draw in the FA's are WAY overstating that theory. It's clear that Bulls do have young talent that will work well with an added superstar. Pay him his money and he'll be here.
  24. Tyrus will likely be moved, but it's not like that makes a difference money-wise since his deal was up after this year anyway, right?
  25. One of these days you will finally understand that this is not a good team. yeah, i really couldn't care less. funny how i've been checking boards constantly over the past few days to see what they can do at the deadline, but i barely check the scores of the actual games. what this team does right now is really extremely meaningless Pretty much, and that's been my expectations going in. It was obvious why they opted to not bring Gordon back and that this would basically just be a placeholder year at best until the FA fest. I want certain players on the team to do well and continue to develop, but anyone acting like this team playing poorly like it's some kind of travesty or heartbreaker simply is not paying attention at all. That said, I will be filled with furious anger after the deadline passes and Hinirch is still on this team. It's appalling how many wide open jump shots he misses.
