  1. Even the outs are getting clubbed. Silva is playing with fire.
  2. Not without a sign in trade in which Deng or Hinrich and some combination went out in exchange. I don't want Wade though to be perfectly honest. Him and Rose's skills will not compliment each other at all and each will be less effective. If the Bulls want the best bang for their buck this offseason (outside of Lebron of course) they should target Bosh as their main FA. Him and Ros playing pick and roll would be awesome. Just add some additional shooters and defenders. After signing Wade or Bosh by the way, we'd have roughly $4.3M to spend on another FA piece. Totally agree on hoping they end up with Bosh as opposed to Wade. Is that $4.3 million with the raised cap?
  3. Having Colvin up has just been stupid with a team struggling as much as this one. There's simply no way to justify squeezing him into lineups right now. He needs to be in the minors getting starts to see if he can capitalize on the slim chance of being more than a 4th OFer while the Cubs only need someone who is basically only a defensive replacement as the 5th OFer, like Fuld.
  4. [expletive], why the [expletive] isn't Nady starting over Colvin?
  5. Soriano and Soto have to moved up in the lineup.
  6. That was an awesome catch by Ike Whatsisface.
  7. Some idiot on CTL just tried to spin this like "oh, maybe it was Maddux's idea." SHUT THE [expletive] UP.
  8. Of course, OF [expletive] COURSE, Kaplan is crowing about how this is a great idea.
  9. Or they can be upfront with him and tell him that they have no intention of re-signing him or exercising the team option and ask if they can trade him. It wouldn't hurt to ask.
  10. Woulda been better to start Nady instead of Colvin so you could sit Aramis.
  11. I have no words for this insanity. It makes zero sense.
  12. What the flying [expletive].
  13. Never said lies about sexual assault don't happen. I think, however, it's ridiculous to say she'd claim rape simply because she regretted [expletive] Roethlisberger. If she's trying to get something out of this, OK, fine, or if something's off with her, whatever, but why cry rape over a one night stand with someone she's never going to see or have to deal with again simply because she thinks she "made a mistake?" That's the part I take issue with, especially given what we know about this case. And imb, you were there when your friend and the chick banged? Grossssssssssssssssss.
  14. There's no way another team is going to pick up the rest of that contract, even if he looks like he's fixed. Getting a team to pick up half of that contract would be miraculous. Depends on how long he has success. If it's coming down to the wire at the deadline and he's been on the comeback trail since April you could likely move him without having to pay any of the money.
  15. I'm assuming this is just some joke I'm not getting, but McNabb was traded to the Redskins. Well, I did ask if I was just dreaming, so I'm not sure why you would think this was some sort of joke you weren't getting. Because it was pretty huge sporting news and it seemed unlikely that someone thought he was a FA that signed with Oakland. Shocking as it is, most of us are not privy to your feelings towards Oakland or Washington.
  16. In place of who? You've got a lefty going tonight, so Fukudome will sit, but that means you'd want Nady in there. Soriano's actually hitting so we want him in there. I guess you could give Byrd another night off, but he too has been one of the few people consistently hitting. "Three starts a week" would say to me he gets some starts against LHP thrown in there. Just saying he's been sitting quite a bit. I agree, but with the way things are going right now the Cubs can't really afford to sit the few productive players they have to give time to an unproven prospect. It would be one thing if one of the OFers who are likely to start tonight were slumping, but they're not, and offense is in short order on this team right now.
  17. True, but the question is: Is he better than Silva or Gorzellany this year? The sample size is small, but so far, he isn't. Unless you go with a six-man rotation, somebody has to move to the pen. Yes, I can say with 1 million percent certainty that Zambrano will be better than Silva and Gorzelanny this year.

  20. A good starter is always more valuable than a reliever. Just because he's not a true ace doesn't mean you dump him into the bullpen.
  21. That's a gigantic assumption at this point. Treating the bullpen as the team's most pressing need right now would be a waste. The bullpen is not the most pressing need right now, but there aren't many impact bats available (especially at whatever positions we have an opening). Obviously, we have to assume that players like ARam, Theriot, Tracy, etc. are going to get at least near their career norms or else the season will be over. The offense has been terrible, but one strong relief appearance at the right time might have given us a few more wins. That's completely backwards. There's no rush to shore up the bullpen when you haven't even exhausted all of the in-house options AND the offense is so bad.
  22. Seriously? This happens all the time. Seriously? Why would someone claim rape over a sexual encounter they felt was a mistake with someone they'd almost certainly never see again? If it was such a mistake and they're filled with such regret, why would they want to prolong the whole mess? And do think sexual assault accusations/suspicion are more likely to be that something bad went down or that someone made it up?
  23. Weren't the results of the rape kit from the hospital inconclusive? Maybe she had sex willingly and then decided later that it was a mistake and claimed rape. The DA said there wasn't enough evidence to charge him with a crime, right? Because the police involved effectively bungled the investigation. And why would she claim rape just because she thought sleeping with him was a "mistake?"
  24. Yeah, she was probably asking for it.
