    It's not ugly already? A loss is a loss. Losing 10 of their last 12 games is pretty hideous to begin with.

    Lou is a baffling, fascinating creature. It's like he has to counter a smart lineup move (hitting Castro #2) with a terrible one (moving Soto back to #8). Maybe it's some kind of weird OCD.

    Wait, why the blue hell do you want them to waste prospects/money on a bullpen this year? I never said that. Clearly said we need a bullpen. They clearly need a lot of things before they start working on the bullpen, especially since you usually don't know what you're getting from a bullpen from year to year.

    I guess. I mean, who the hell thought this was actually a "$140 million team" going into the season? Just because they're paid that much doesn't mean they actually are one. There's expectations and then there's straight up denial and delusions.

    Well that makes sense. This team definitely isn't worth that. I just see a difference between that and essentially willfully ignoring the season altogether, or even just for the time being.

    We've all suffered through teams that have been a LOT worse than this one. Even though the end result has been horrible at this point there's still a number of players I want to follow on the Cubs and want to see them do well. If someone is "not interested," hey, that's their call. I just think it's odd that someone would consider themselves a fan of a team and then just turn off wanting to follow them at all so easily simply because they're doing poorly, and especially since it's a team that more often than not has been absolutely wretched throughout most of our lives.

I saw the ones last year and thought he was banned before the new season started. oh, yeah i meant last season. i didn't think you read blackhawks threads. I typically don't, but I made it a point to do so last year because of him once word got out about how he was losing it. One can't pass up witnessing meltdowns that epic.

    Just to be depressingly technical: the Cubs have actually now lost 8 straight to the Pirates dating back to last season.

    Eh, baseball is baseball. I love watching it more than any other sport, and even when the Cubs are bad they still pull wins out of their asses I can enjoy. If I haven't ignored a season of theirs to this point, there's really no reason to start now. I've been through a lot worse.

    What's most likely is that he's NOT A [expletive] A RELIEVER and can't handle the workload. Weird how that happens. The guy has trouble not cramping up or having tightness or whatever when he has 5 days between starts, so how the hell did they ever expect him to stay in "setup shape?"
