  1. Marshall has pitched or gotten warmed up in 4 straight games I believe. Ah, I didn't know they had him up last night. Faaaaaaaaaaaaaantastic.
  2. OMFG, Lou is going to go with Grabow instead of Marshall.
  3. Uh, what? You'd rather the Cubs just looked like crap for the rest of the game?
  4. Because he didn't suck last year or his first two years with the Cubs? I'm not saying that means he'll be any good this year, and I don't think he will be, but the way you presented your point was odd, as if he must have sucked simply because he was with the Cubs. He was horrible the last year with the cubs and there's probably a reason he was DFA's by the DBacks. IMO the Cubs are wasting their time bringing him back to the team. You want horrible, bring up the Shark, not a 36 year old reliever with nothing left. Yeah, but your main reasoning for not wanting him back was his last year with the Cubs. That wasn't last season. His last season he actually seemed to be a serviceable reliever again. He's been that or much better 5 of the last 6 seasons. Again, I really didn't want him signed back and I'm never a fan of these scrap heap attempts, but this is pretty far from being the end of the world. If he doesn't look much better than what he was showing with the Diamondbacks you won't see him with the Cubs much at all.
  5. I'm impressed with the power Werth has shown this year and the last two given that he has the build and look of a hobo who enjoys his meth.
  6. He does have his share of puzzling moves, but I don't think you get the 14th most wins in MLB history by being a complete tool. Sure you do. Luck out in being the manager for some really good teams and you're pretty well set.
  7. Geo forgot how to hit himself. 4 for his last 28. Still, a better option than Nady especially considering Geo is going to come in the game anyway since you pinch hit for the other catcher. He's forgotten how to hit for the time being but he sure as [expletive] still knows how to walk.
  8. Dude he had a clutch hit yesterday. And the other day.
  9. Lou is a moron, but the Cubs will win this in spite of him.
  10. Because he didn't suck last year Didn't he actually just get a little lucky with an abnormally low HR/FB rate? Probably.
  11. Because he didn't suck last year or his first two years with the Cubs? I'm not saying that means he'll be any good this year, and I don't think he will be, but the way you presented your point was odd, as if he must have sucked simply because he was with the Cubs.
  12. For those that missed it, witness the cannon: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=8152465&topic_id=8878834&c_id=chc
  13. His last 5 starts: .143 .368 .143 .511 Clearly still in a bit of a slump, but a pretty significant difference from the line you're reaching back to.
  14. It's all the same thing.
  15. Well, he's only had four starts this year, so eliminating one start is significant. In his three other starts he's had good K numbers, but has allowed too many baserunners and thrown too many pitches. Two quality starts one taking him 119 pitches to go six innings. His contract probably unfairly plays into the impression. Hearing the Cubs management stating the move to the pen was an attempt to add mph to the fastball doesn't help the perception either. If it takes him 119 pitches, it takes him 119 pitches. The idea that he shouldn't be in the starting rotation is dumb.
  16. Hill doesn't sleep. He just creepily stands in the middle of the room, staring at his zombie fingers.
  17. I don't understand the talk about Z like he was nothing but horrendous in his starts this year. You subtract that disastrous opening day and he was more than serviceable as a starter.
  18. ALL STAND NOW AND REMOVE YOUR DUTCHBOY CAPS FOR THE BELGISH NATIONAL ANTHEM:
  19. The Belgish emperor actually is a bicycle.
  20. Seriously, I don't understand how people can think otherwise. add sprinters to the list. there's absolutely no way usain bolt isn't on something, he went from average to greatest of all-time real quick. michael phelps, too. actually, all athletes in general are under suspicion as far as i'm concerned. Suspicion of being awesome. EMBRACE THE AWESOMENESS.
  21. Exactly. Colvin isn't going to net much at this point.
