What's horrific about it? Sure, scoring is down which is a negative. There are shorter ballgames (through both less hits and more incentives to find pitchers who throw strikes since walks would become much more valuable for an offense). This would lead to balls being put into play more and just more action on the field. I don't know how a game filled with more Juan Pierres and Scotty Podseseseses and Michael Bourns isn't horrific. Oh, yes, more thrilling action in the field...will they ground out to SS or to 2B this time?
Nobody is talking about [expletive] Bogans when they say the Bulls need a shooter. Well I hate to break it to you, but Kieth ended the season at 38% from 3 and is shooting 45% from 3 from the playoffs. One would think that would be effective if thats all you needed from your SG. The problem is that Kieth can't do anything else. Hence why everyone's been saying the Bulls' most glaring need is a quality #2 guard. Well you said they needed a quality shooter. I'll assume you misspoke and meant SG. The most glaring need of that glaring need is the shooting ability of the #2 guard. It needs to be an all-around player who can make plays, but primarily he needs to be a shooter. That's just painfully obvious.

Like I said before, ultimately this is a good learning experience for a young team. Yeah, it sucks to flame out like this, but these are the kind of things that the Bulls, Rose especially, need to experience and learn how to overcome in the future.
rose is a young elite player; of course he can play at this level for another year. as for defense, it's thibodeau's calling card and the bulls have good defensive players, so why is that going to drop off? I think that's an optimistic way of thinking, but I'm trying to be realistic here. Nobody expected this season from Chicago and I cant understand why people think I'm crazy that they revert back to being an average team. Nobody expected this kind of season YET because the team is largely as young as they are. People think it's "crazy" that you're talking about them like they're a creaky collection of vets who caught lightening in a bottle.
Wouldn't that same hard cap restrict the Bulls with Boozer, Noah, Deng, and a future big payday for Rose? Not if you can package Noah+Deng for Howard. The Bulls must pull off a trade of some sort because this formula is whack. the bulls just came one shot (or one good last-second play) from being tied in the series and holding home court advantage. why is this team such a disaster and needs to be reassembled? just get a pretty good shooting guard. Because I dont think an OJ Mayo can make an impactful difference on a team that overachieved all season long. We're banking on Rose playing at a MVP level with maintaining the best defense in the league to happen a 2nd time? Why won't the defense stay good? Why won't Rose still be excellent with a better #2 guard? How did they overachieve? What the [expletive] are you talking about?

You realize a good season for this team was projected to be like the #4 seed tops and make it a series in the 2nd round, right?
Yup. That's what makes this so frustrating, because this probably the best shot the Bulls had at an "easy" title with how much better the East is going to be REAL soon.
