  1. like Tom?
  2. Based on your posts the last few weeks, that doesn't really narrow it down between the two.
  3. Definitely stick with the guy who has been legit bad. He needs all the help he can get.
  4. I'm told that the Cubs won last night, and apparently Bryant's exit velocity right now is just SICK, which is technically preferable to when he was making us all just SICK, period. Ideally this means he's due to unleash a bunch of spraying dongs any day now. But at least today has a great start time! In fact, this is the optimum start time, and no baseball game should ever start later than this. This is ideal!
  5. Man, the Chicago sports writers are really on a rampage of awfulness these last few days.
  6. Fuckin' Rick Morrissey is the voice of reason now?!?! Holy horsefeathers. What a world.
  7. Boy, that story about the Cubs cracking down on non-bootlickers really looks more and more likely with all of these doughy beat slobs so readily hurling themselves onto landmines like this.
  8. (And yes, I know Zobrist is even worse in that time)
  9. Please stop leading off the guy hitting .167 and OBPing .286 over the last 2 weeks, thanks, bye.
  10. Now all I can picture is this:
  11. Yeah, I figured when someone is trying to gauge whether or not someone had a "good career" as a baseball player, why are we, as fans, going to weigh whether or not they basically had job stability as a factor? Tons of average and unremarkable players have very, very long careers (as starting players), and dudes like Panda and Castro ultimately have put up numbers that show them to generally be pretty average guys.
  12. Now Jeromy Burnitz...THAT was a really, really good career.
  13. a world series mvp I enjoy forgetting things. Ryan Theriot has 2 WS rings. NEVER FORGET.
  14. Fun fact: Starlin Castro career fWAR: 16.9 David Eckstein career fWAR: 16.7 It's almost like that name wasn't chosen at random...
  15. If I had said David Eckstein instead of Castro you dorks would be choking on how much you were harrumphing in agreement instead of being all, "well, yes, job security is indeed the true hallmark of a good career in this field of baseball!"
  16. Nah. They've had OK careers. Definitely pretty big disappointments relative to potential, plus overall value pans out to being an average regular starting player at best.
  17. You're a kind soul.
  18. Sandoval had a good career in the sense that's played baseball for a while and made good money, sure. That Starlin Castro-esque career WAR, however (and take your pick from FG or BR)...
  19. Bat hurl.
  20. The start time for this game is a damn war crime. Prepare for a lot of this: King Felix has actually been OK so far. So that's something.
  21. Too many suckers invested too heavily in the Cubs.
