    I'd say that applies to both guys. Theo has shown he's all too happy to play the enabler time and time again. Yeah, Theo in the same interview welcoming Russell back into the clubhouse and then banning the white power dude from Wrigley is quite a look. And below him he has Clueless Joe Jackson, and above him it's the band of chinless Trump Bootlickers and Sinclair Humpers. There's literally nobody that anyone can be relied on to not be awful running this damn team.

    Right, or if they feel they want a SS get Adames up here. He’s not on the 40-man but if you gotta DFA Tom Collins Mix or Randy to clear a spot, who horsefeathering cares. It just feels really grotesque for them to do this now (I mean, it would at any point), because you can't help but think they're doing it just because the team is doing so well and the vibe is generally so positive. They're hoping all of the good stuff will allow this to be swept aside quicker, because he sure as horsefeathers isn't showing with his play that he needs to be brought back ASAP (not that him playing well would justify him still being on the team).

    I'd say I was lucky I somehow managed to never encounter this, but it's not like it wasn't effectively replaced with any number of "games" that resulted in someone getting hit.

    The whole 4chan "let's make this a fake thing to pwn the libs, 'whoops', now alt-right people are doing it ironically/seriously" started in 2017. But Milo and co. started it back in 2015 as this intentionally nebulous dog-whistle along the lines of, "white guys chill like this" or whatever the hell goes on in their lizard brains. It's been festering for a while. Sure, but it hasn't really been mainstream for a long time. It wasn't a focus of national media until somewhat recently -- the person sitting behind Brett Kavanaugh comes to mind -- and most recently, the NZ shooter. It's not unreasonable for the average person to not know that it's a white power symbol and to be surprised that someone would do that on live television at a Cubs game. And multiple people in the White House doing it, too. I get what you're saying, and others who somehow mercifully missed this. I guess we're just at the point where more and more people are going to realize what's changed, and ideally knock it off.

    I've never been on 4chan. 4chan isn't the story. This symbol is a racist symbol used by racists and has been for years and people know it.     I'm online a lot but I have no idea what 4chan is even though I've heard of it. I vaguely recall hearing that this was not used to racists horsefeathers but I don't hang out with anyone who would use it (to the best of my knowledge) so it's not something I immediately thought of when I saw the pic. I've never been on 4chan. 4chan isn't the story. This symbol is a racist symbol used by racists and has been for years and people know it. Yeah, people are trying to drill down and act like this is a story/discussion that hasn't really transcended meme-level status off of platforms like Twitter and 4chan; that's simply not the case. It's been a straight up international news story/debate multiple times over the past 2-3 years.

    That's exactly what I said. Nobody was denying that it's been a very common gesture for different reasons in the past. Nobody didn't know that. People are talking about how suspect it is that a white guy in May of 2019 decided to do that on TV behind a black reporter at the game given how loaded flashing that sign is now, and your response is to post pics of a black fraternity making similar hand gestures and to then act befuddled when people question your motivations. Like, your own best defense, in your own words, is that it was a totally unnecessary and uncalled for non-sequitur response that you were doing just because. Surely you can see why that seems like a bit of a stretch.
