    In terms of young talent, we're already ranked third in the NFC North. What about Angelo gives you confidence that he'll be able to turn this team into championship contenders? He hasn't drafted anybody worth a damn since 2006. dude come on. i'm not even a bears fan and i know he drafted matt forte since 2006. if the bears had gone 5 years without drafting a decent player they'd be by far the worst team in the nfl. you can say that his drafts have been disappointing without making hyperbolic and moronic statements. No, he can't.

    But like I said, you never know the next time that a 27 year old elite player will even be available regardless of their physical build. That may be true, but it's not a compelling argument for entering into a contract you think will turn out to be a mistake. I have no reason not to believe that Fielder doesnt have at least 4-5 prime years left. Could be more. Would you really be upset if we got 4-5 prime years of Fielder and then he hits an early decline around age 33? He'd still be young enough where we could send him off to DH. Have you read the frontpage article on Fielder? It provides reasons to believe Fielder doesn't have at least 4-5 prime years left. Hahahahahahaaah!!! Way to distance yourself from your own "article."

    Do you really not realize what carrying around an extra 80 pounds does to a body? Fielder may be 27, but his body has been stressed like a man much older than that. He is the oldest 27 year old you have ever seen. Some people are just big.

    Oh, definitely. I've been expecting 3B to be some kind of collection of hot garbage next year ever since it was clear Aramis wasn't coming back. I'm not faulting the FO for going after Stewart as a reclamation project given how barren the options are at 3B; I'm just not very optimistic about him.

    I mean, yeah, obviously I'm pulling for a diamond in the rough scenario, but I'm kinda stunned so many people seem to really think that's all that likely. We've got a kickass FO, but they're not immune to ending up with shitty players, and this guy is all but a lock to be a shitty player offensively given the wrist injury. It's not a huge deal, but it is what it almost certainly is.
