    I very much doubt it, but you never know. I just have a feeling once we learn more this story is going to be a bombshell. the part where an NFL player was positioning himself to be a drug lord, yes. The part where NFL players buy cocaine and pot? Not so much. With the quantities they're talking, Hurd could likely be the supplier to a double-digit number of NFL players who are also dealing. Busting a ring of pro athlete drug dealers would definitely be a bigger deal than finding a handful of players dabble in coke and/or weed. A "handful?" Please. Tons of these guys are doing plenty more than "dabbling." At the end of the day whether they get it from a guy like Hurd or outside of the league the end result is the same.

    Yeah, I just bought this for my dad, but I'm underwhelmed by their choices for the last two. It's not like the Cubs had a shortage of amazing games in 2003 and 2004.

    A little bit too much information. But yeah, I lived right by the Black Duck for about 10 years. Wow. My sister lived around the corner from you for a couple years. Ugh, this is terrifying; I live right down the street from there. She doesn't live anywhere near there now. Hasn't for probably 5-6 years. Well, I wasn't terrified at the idea of your sister living there, but now you make it sound like I should be.

    2nd time in 18 months that Bill Simmons has written a "[fill in superstar] should go to Chicago if he wants to win" column about a guy who's clearly not coming to Chicago. I feel like there's some dark secret about the Bulls that explains why no one wants to play here that we'll learn later or something. I'm starting to think there really is something to the "playing in Jordan's shadow" thing.

    He really is kicking multiple kinds of ass. The guy is clearly serious when they talk about the big picture stuff. I can't wait until we're down the line with the renovations and the additions and the TV network.

This kind of reporting makes no sense. Why would Theo and co. have been "blown away" by Ricketts' attempts to hire them if it part of that included "hey, we're going to drastically slash payroll?"

    Hey, you go play with your reasonable contracts in the corner and the rest of MLB will get going with reality. We may have different definitions of reasonable as mine might be slightly less conservative, but overall, I'm with davearm here. The corner awaits.
