  1. Shut up, he's willing to move!
  2. He says, when the next 30-something flyer he'll lust over lurks just around the bend.
  3. I'LL TAKE IT. Dear God, I need some kind of hope.
  4. Unless they like Hinshaw. I am starting to think that they have a pretty good idea that Camp and/or Corpas will be gone by months end, at which time they can flood the big league club wits as many of Iowa's spare parts as they like. We won't get anything of any value, but they're really of no use to us going forward, especially when they can just keep cycling through Alex Hinshaws and such. And of course there's Marmol. We could get something decent if we pick up most or all of his 2013 salary. By decent, I mean just that. Depending on the system, anywhere between someone's top 10-25 as well as a sweetener. This is such a classic WSR post. It needs 5-10 more names of AA/AAA guys with no future. With Johnson and Baker gone he's just drifting aimlessly.
  5. "dabears.com?" Ugh. Sounds like the football version of bleedcubbieblue.com. Fuckin' dorks.
  6. Everyone on the Score is, B&B included.
  7. And man, I would kill to just once see a young player go insane like that for the Cubs. I love seeing guys like Stanton and Trout, but come on; yes, I know, we have Castro, and even then you have to adjust it based on expectations for a SS and age and so on. I want a mother [expletive] monster.
  8. Holy [expletive]. The announcer's "ohhhhhhhhhhh myyyyyyy" was appropriately orgasmic.
  9. WHAT IS HAPPENING.
  10. I don't understand.
  11. And here I thought Jukt Micronics seemed so trustworthy.
  12. in the castro thread, tim started a discussion about what his 2012 season says about the projection of his career. if rizzo ends the season with numbers disappointing (compared to expectations), then how does that change his outlook? i don't think any of us were expecting a sub .800 ops, so i don't see why it's irrational to ask when this starts to become a concern. i fully appreciate the tremendous strikeout percentage and stuff like that, but still. he's been bad longer than he's been good in the majors so far this season, so it's worth talking about. since it's a cubs message board. Personally I think we're a ways away from being concerned when he's had less than 200 PA this season. Obviously his struggles aren't something to be dismissed, but there's still, what, 45 games to go? He's played in about that many games this year, so it's a bit premature to start talking about him finishing with an OPS below .800, though, yes, if he finished the year below .800 I'd be somewhat concerned. Basically I don't see much to drawing a conclusion before the season's up given how short his has been.
  13. Just assuming he's going to be good is stupid, but I honestly see what there is to discuss at this point after a few weeks of scuffling outside of simply pointing out that he's struggling. It's to be expected that a young player with an adjusted approach is going to go through periods like this, and it's encouraging that he's going through it so far without any major warning flags. What do you want to discuss?
  14. And he went 2-5 with no strikeouts yesterday! WHAT A COUNTRY.
  15. Jesus, Jackson, you really know how to take a huge, sloppy [expletive] on optimism.
  16. You don't use active discussions? That explains a lot.
  17. Snappy dresser.
  18. That makes me nautious.
  19. Dirtbag pitcher pitches like dirtbag.
  20. Does not compute.
  21. WTF is a Bengals fan.
  22. I'm not convinced that his intellectual prowess extended much beyond the statistical/baseball analytics realm. His statistical analyses were pretty sweet, though. He made me a believer on Khalil Greene. That one didn't turn out so well. Or J.R. Towels. khalil greene was legitimately good for a few years in san diego. a lot of people on here liked him, and for good reason. Yeah, I was definitely on board with the Greene idea. I thought that if he got out of Petco he'd be able to be really good and I was ticked when the Cardinals traded for him. Did not expect him to flame out as spectacularly as he did; didn't he have serious anxiety issues?
  23. How the [expletive] did he possibly missed the other thread?
