What the [expletive]? This is inexplicably like the third news item I've seen in a week that confirms that Boyz II Men even still exist, though at least this one also confirms Aaron Rogers is a melting-faced dope. -
Which sucks, because the resident Pirates fan is infinitely more tolerable than about 86% of the Cubs fans here.

We spent all this money on the best front office in baseball so that we could absolve them of trying to find good players if it looks like it might be kinda hard. What a turd of a response. If the FA market sucks and there's not a smart trade available, what do you want them to do for 3B next season?

Logically, if he keeps not swinging at pitches out of the zone, pitchers are going to be forced to give him more hittable pitches. It's at least as likely that those hittable pitches are more frequently turned into extra base hits as it is he continues missing them 42% of the time. Again, though, you miss the point (on purpose?). Nobody's saying that his amazingly good stats will continue as advertised. What people are saying, though, is there's little chance of his would-be-a-MLB-record strikeout rate holding up long-term if he maintains his swing rate and plate discipline. Stop with the smashing kick of logic.

You almost got the point; people who criticize Hendry are saying he was a bad GM. They're not saying anything like this... Who cares? He was unable to apply that knowledge well as a GM.

Unfortunately, that middle thing is kind of fickle and hard to maintain. He's very unlikely to keep doing it at his current rate. ...he says through gritted teeth and with a sweaty brow.
