Yeah, but then you'll turn around and be like "oh man, the baseball gods will find a way to make them win because they're the Cardinals and they have to." That's like one degree removed from just being an actual Cardinals fan. DECLARE THAT THEY WILL LOSE.

Who cares about the Yankees anymore? They don't win every year, they don't buy every superstar that comes on the market anymore. Yes they still have the largest payroll in the game by a big margin, but that hasn't guaranteed them anything except 1 World Series title in the last 12 years. I'm not rooting for them or anything, but I honestly would be pretty indifferent if they won this year. I don't dislike the Yankees at all. I wanted the O's to win just because I've seen the Yankees over and over again in the playoffs, but if every organization tried to win as much as the Yankees, baseball would be better off. it's less the "trying to win" part than the "massive financial advantage and 26 championships" part that makes them so hateable. but really it's nice to see some breaks finally going the yankees' and cardinals' way after teams like the cubs dominated the past century of baseball. Yeah, that's the main difference between how the Yankees and Cardinals have been run and the Cubs, the "breaks."

Just not feeling sorry for the people crying in the crowd. Why not? These are the kind of seasons that establish a young team's fanbase.
