  1. Yeah, they changed the baseball budget. WHOOOOOAAAAA, CRAZY, WE CRACKED THE CASE.
  2. Nah. It's not some kind of mystery.
  3. No, you're not.
  4. You're saying everything; any theory that paints the FO and the ownership poorly for your rant du jour finds its way into your sausage-like fingers.
  5. Everyone shut up and let him spin in the anti-logic-loop he's trapped himself in.
  6. They'll go out of their way to get their games in because of the teams playing; it'll likely take a while, but this is Chicago. It's not like it's going to be pouring continuously for hours.
  7. There's certainly a decent shot he'll be better than the current options. Nobody here is thinking he's a lock to do anything, but they might as well see. Why would I have defended him all season? I agreed with the idea he was hitting into some bad luck for a good chunk of the time he played before being injured. The only time I brought it up after that was with that neely crenshaw goober because he was saying similarly ridiculous things (ie-"why is everyone defending Ian Stewart?!?!").
  8. I'm guessing it has to be; I forgot he was the resident weather wizard.
  9. ok Come on, man; HANDS DOWN. You can't argue with that. Just like you can't argue that Ian Stewart only had bad luck this year. Uh, why do you keep focusing on Ian Stewart?
  10. ok Come on, man; HANDS DOWN. You can't argue with that.
  11. Barney looped a shot into CF that looked it was going to drop for a single that would have at least tied the game, but Gentry made an impressive diving catch coming in to grab it.
  12. This strategy of saving the offense for the end to avoid the bullpen really isn't sound, guys.
  13. I really annoyed my neighbors there for a second, what with all the jumping and yelling. I thought that was good.
  14. Just the opposite. I keep hoping that if enough people acknowledge that things are not going well, there might be some pressure on the front office to fix it. It's a long shot, I know. Yes, because you're an inconsequential nothing. Now shut up and watch this triumphant comeback victory.
  15. AAAAARRRRRGH. That second strike was your jam, Wellington.
  16. Appreciate it, Baker! Wonder if SSR stuck it out.
  17. I don't get the joke. That's exactly what I'm going to do. Right, because you're that particularly annoying strand of Cubs fans that finds bizarre ways to revel in baseball crappiness.
  18. Awwww, feeling a little sulky? Better hurry and update your sig! Then complain about the FO on 38 different sites!
  19. Kyle, stop being a shut-in freak; this is a board with a ton of people who actually live in Chicago. Yes, it's been noticeably cooler here this spring compared to last year, which had a lot of unusually warm/hot days early on. But blaming this only on cold weather isn't realistic.
  20. Using Camp in The Show is like begging for your opponent to start crushing doubles and home runs. Based on that alone I've dreaded him the entire time he's been with the Cubs, even when he was good.
  21. I get that. It's not like Hairston is killing it either. Guys, all I'm saying is it would hurt absolutely nothing to let him play vs a lefty or 2. I just wanna see if we have a guy that could maybe play every day down the road. I get that, but this far into his career it's unlikely he's a diamond in the rough. You want to try and get the other guys going so they can contribute, and sitting them isn't going to help that. Probably so, but I'd just like to see them take a chance. Like I said, it can't hurt anything. This team doesn't look like it's gonna be any better than last year, so I'm fine with rolling the dice a little. Well, even if it's a bust of a year you want to get guys like Hairston going so you can ideally trade them. Schierholtz will have plenty of value if he can continue to be serviceable in his half of the platoon.
