  1. A "squeeze job?" His agenda was to miscall that one pitch?
  2. Yup. He's not been missing badly, but people acting like he's being squeezed are just wrong.
  3. Christ, Wood's already around 70 pitches.
  4. You mean you missed this gem? http://thebiglead.fantasysportsven.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Mark-McGuire-pissed1-594x303.png I did; they were just talking about that brawl and I really want to see it.
  5. Wait, when the [expletive] did McGwire go to work for the Dodgers?
  6. Works for me.
  7. I wonder how much of it is Hahn and how much of it is Kenny still running the show.
  8. Hey, I'll agree that it seemed like the White Sox were more competitive in the 90's; not that it necessarily ended well for them (it usually didn't), but I definitely remember it seeming like they were at least in the hunt for more of the season than the Cubs were.
  9. At a quick glance, his examples are a bunch of guys who performed similarly and mostly hadn't hit their ceilings at his age... They performed similarly in that they effectively put up the same line for multiple seasons when they were "on?" Look, I'm not trying to argue that I think he sucks or anything; I WANT to be convinced that he's likely to get better, or at the very least be more consistent.
  10. Like I said, I'd be happy if that was what he maintained going forward, but come on, how many of us were looking at that as effectively being his ceiling? Yes, I get that he's so young, but this is, again, going on four seasons now where his "best" seems to result in some VERY similar numbers. What are the odds a player just suddenly jumps past something like that when they've been going along just showing minimal improvement for so long?
  11. Obviously I'd be happy if he could just put those numbers up consistently again, but it's also kinda disappointing that his "awesome rebound July" is ultimately just the same numbers he's put up before with a bit of an uptick in his walk rate. This is now his fourth year in the league and even when he's seemingly at his best his numbers aren't really improving beyond what a lot of us assumed/hoped was just a prelude of what was to come.
  12. This is my second "no," and it's for that reason. The shitty bullpen management is just the cherry on top.
  13. Man, blackout rules are dumb.
  14. If someone is signed up for YES on the cable package are they subject to blackouts? If not, then isn't that the perfect solution? They are still subject to blackouts. If the Yankees are being carried as a "national" game, right?

  17. Of all the people to hate on for the stretches, at least he's an actual Cubs fan. A tool, but a Cubs fan. Who gives a [expletive] if they're Cubs fans? I'll take a million people who have never even seen a baseball game before a useless sack of meat like Belushi.
  18. I just can't bring myself to hate the Marlins; yeah, 2003 sucked, but that team was immediately blown up. Sure, I hate their scumbag owner, but it's not like the Cubs had a chance to face the team that crushed their dreams in 2003 on any kind of a regular basis. Not that that makes sense with how I still hate the Mets despite them not being a "direct" rival for almost 20 years now, but whatever; fandom is stupid.
  19. [expletive], this Dodgers team is fun as hell. I had Crawford, Ramirez and Gonzalez anchoring my lineup in The Show '10 and NOW IT IS SO.
  20. Years ago people would have made a similar argument for Meph.
