  1. There is enough lament to go around.
  2. Terrifyingly sexy.
  3. I sure as [expletive] wouldn't want to stick around. Don't see anything wrong with that.
  4. Yeah only hot bears take it in this thread.
  5. *High fives with that dumb ass foam bear claw*
  6. I appreciate that you saw the folly of your ways.
  7. It's a risk-reward thing, because if they Vitters, then you've got an even bigger problem for next year. Might as well never bring them up. Or just do it when you think so for baseball reasons and not for a cheap boost. Yeah, but they could always "Vitters" regardless of how ready they may seem.

  9. Let's hug beards and think of Jay.
  10. Don't get all sweaty over a stellar Old Style callback.
  11. That's because you're a weirdo.
  12. Yes yes, we all want our offense to outscore the opposing team's offense and we all wonder if it will from week to week. Every single fan in every single city. Well, the only thing that matters is what's on the scoreboard, ah-doy.
  13. Oh, recent history. You are a fickle mistress. Last year and the year before have nothing to with this year. At least we can compare the start of this season with the start of last season. Sure we can, because the [expletive] NFL is the [expletive] NFL or whatever.
  14. Basically for me it comes down to since the schedule just gets tougher many of us are wary that a developing offensive system will be able to overcome what the defense is going to be facing.

  16. Oh, come on. It's not like I'm sitting around expecting them to win the Super Bowl this year. I really didn't have any expectations going into the year given all the changes. I'm saying that while I've been very happy with the offense it's unfortunate that the defense and the special teams have fallen off as quickly as they have. Like jersey is saying, I'm pretty sure we all that decline wouldn't be so sudden.
  17. Pretty sure nobody wanted the defense and special teams to fall off as dramatically as they have. Being an ass or u really don't get it? We wanted an offensive led football team. The offense is top 10 good and everyone has caveats. The defense doesn't have to carry the team and people are upset that they aren't capable of it anymore, despite the fact that they still get turnovers at a league best rate. The offense has made up for the decline on defense like we hoped. I think you are mischaracterizing what people are upset about. It's not that we wanted them to carry the team, it's just that they fell pretty damn quickly. The offense has improved at an acceptable rate. The defense has regressed at too fast a rate for my liking. It's not just a lack of dominance, but rather long bouts of incompetence. I'm not apoplectic, I just wished the defense would give the offense a little more cushion to gel, since I was expecting it to take some time. Exactly. I want the offense to be the main strength, so it's not like I'm bemoaning how they're looking so far. My disappointment stems from not expecting both the special teams and the defense to start declining so sharply and relatively quickly as they have. It's not something that's going to (ideally) cripple them for the long run, but it makes the outlook for THIS season not all of that optimistic.

The offense is top 10 good and everyone has caveats. The defense doesn't have to carry the team and people are upset that they aren't capable of it anymore, despite the fact that they still get turnovers at a league best rate. The offense has made up for the decline on defense like we hoped. Squeaking out last second wins and barely beating ass teams isn't what we hoped for. Like I said, the offense is trending clearly in the right direction and things look really good on that end for the future, but to sit back and say right now that everything is essentially fine this season isn't being realistic. There's a massive, massive gap between the defense carrying the team and the mess that it is right now, so to act like people "don't get it" when they're pointing how obviously flawed the team is right now is just ridiculous. The Bears are a decent team that is likely going to to either miss the playoffs or get knocked out very early because everything besides the offense is old and declining fast.

  20. I'm hardly worried because they're not "dominating;" I'm worried because they're simply giving up too many points to shitty teams.
  21. Okay, I get that. But the Redskins and the entire NFC East are, I believe, more flawed. This is true.
  22. It's semantics, but I don't think the Bears are "clearly better" than a lot of teams with how bad and vulnerable the defense has looked to this point. I love what we've seen from the offense, but that's still a work in progress itself. Basically it wouldn't surprise me to see the Bears lose to almost anyone left on their schedule.
  23. That stinks. No way you can drop the cost/downgrade and then just aggressively sell next year if need be to keep yourself in the picture? Possibly, but I doubt it; it's looking like me and one other guy left right now. Unless we can just get something dirt cheap in a corner somewhere I think the timing just wasn't right.
  24. http://img.mylot.com/2132449.gif They being the Bears. Yes, I know.
  25. Sadly, I think I'm out. I sent the invoice around the the other people in on the seats with me and people are dropping like flies.
