    I'd pump the breaks on Maddux being the greatest pitcher in our history. If it's our history then his braves years are thrown out, if that's the case he can't touch Mordecai Brown. It's a lot closer than you'd think.

    Yeah, basically my feeling with the way the offensive output from within and via trade(s) might shape up. Just focus on putting together a monster team bat-wise and figure out the pitching via FA.

    What a gross win. The offense looked godly at times, but yet again went through long stretches where they just couldn't make anything happen, largely due to ridiculous play calling. That said, given that it's a first year overhaul it's still super promising and something to be excited about. The defense, however, looks busted and scary-bad. Yeah, the injuries aren't helping, but there's little to show that they won't just get pushed around by any halfway decent team. Really would not be surprised to see this team end up something like 8-8 or 9-7.

    Luckily after tonight, they'll only have one game (Wash) over the next 24 days so it'll give them a chance to get healthy. Getting Paea and Tillman will help but if they're not getting pressure, there's not much help on the way. Is it wrong that I'm hoping Peppers has been hampered with injuries throughout the year and it'll help. Basically gotta pray that that's the case.

    This season feels like it's going to be super anti-climactic with how horrendous the defense has looked to this point. Not cool.

    I always liked the idea of hiring Dierker, but I think how he basically walked away from baseball after 2001 shows that that was always a pipe dream.
