  1. great news a new owner who seems to care about the team just kidding the old owner made him promise to never spend any money great news we got theo he's gonna improve the team super fast just kidding it's now illegal to spend money on the farm system and all of his other tricks from boston are now known by everyone great news teams in big markets now get billion dollar tv contracts just kidding we signed a contract with csn for a hundred years and twenty-seven dollars a game great news at least we have rizzo and castro, a true base to build around just kidding both of them suck now CAN I GO NOW?!?
  2. Holllllllllllllllllllly [expletive]. That is just awful. But not in the least bit surprising. And as I told the GF, you'd probably see something similar from just about every fanbase, though probably not quite as extreme as this is. Yeah, I've seen tons of stuff from stupid Cubs fans along those lines, but not that concentrated and with that much vitriol from so many people. Christ, that's depressing.
  3. OK, it really does seem like some otherworldy force is actively [expletive] up nearly every possible avenue or advantage the Cubs kinda need to fix this [expletive] mess.
  4. Holllllllllllllllllllly [expletive]. That is just awful.
  5. Why are national treasures like da Bum banned but this monster is free to wander the Earth?
  6. The Cubs are interested in a ton of things they can't afford right now.
  7. I was just on my way home and it looked like most of the action was right down the street from the Belmont station. Stupid Ricketts.
  8. Thanks for clarifying.
  9. Care to give me a google map link of the location? I'm not too familiar with the area. Sure thing: Link It really is too bad it will never happen, because it's absolutely perfect. Walking distance from 3 El lines, a few blocks from LSD and 90/94, a long walk or short shuttle/bus from Union Station/Ogilvie, plenty of space for all the other revenue generating crap they want, and they could orient the view from the stadium with the skyline/Sears Tower. holy hell this is the most genius thing ever tt It really is [expletive] perfect. Hell, I wanted them to move to Cabrini when they kicked everyone out of there, too.
  10. The real reason the Wrigley renovations are on hold is until they can sell it to the public based on the raw sexual magnetism of Vogelbach.
  11. not just that stuff, but a lot of the people who are loudest about legalization are WAY too into pot. like it's a way of life for them. i'm pretty sure that prohibition would have gone on longer than it did if the prominent voices to undo the 18th amendment were a bunch of fall-down drunks. Leave the American history to the experts, koala-boy.
  12. Fred needs to get those truckers that were going to blockade DC into action here.
  13. He's splurging and getting them out of the $1 DVD bin at the gas station.
  14. Imagine if Ricketts hadn't been able to hire Theo. Holy [expletive]; I think I just had a seizure.
  15. Wait until he goes on a poor man's bender and triple teams Angels in the Outfield, Little Big League and Rookie of the Year and he gets a ca-ray-zay idea.
  16. Holy [expletive], I never thought I'd see someone try to narrow Trout down as a "speed guy."
  17. I'd have to imagine that the pitch for investing in a Cubs network would probably go over a lot better when the team is a lot better and the organization's finances and reorganization plans weren't so publicly stuck in neutral. I'm not saying that it's a bust that people would flee screaming from, but the timing just doesn't seem right for some really key (and depressing) reasons.
  18. Not even if there's a billion dollar pot of gold at the end of that rainbow? Given this stupid debt structure nonsense and all the other [expletive] they're trying to find change for, yeah, I seriously doubt they could buy out both Comcast and WGN.
  19. There's is absolutely no [expletive] way the Ricketts could afford that.
  20. I voted yes, but to imply it's impossible to say no is silly. Yeah, this. I love the direction the farm has gone, but really... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cu1JMbSLPvc I voted "yes," but I want a throbbing "YEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!" when those punks kids start turning into awesome major league players or get traded for some.
  21. Why? BJ Upton was pretty [expletive] cool for 6 seasons prior to last year and was only 27 at the time. I know all the numbers we all love seemed to favor him, but he just never seemed to be worth all the hype that comes with that type of contract. His contract seemed right in line with that he was producing. Basically what happened is just something that's total hindsight; nobody thought he'd topple off of a cliff like this at 28 barring a major injury.
  22. Why? BJ Upton was pretty [expletive] cool for 6 seasons prior to last year and was only 27 at the time.
  23. I think they're doing a good job despite the incompetence of the people who actually own the organization.
  24. Man, I was so excited over that idea. Theo probably was, too. [expletive] Ricketts.
  25. I seriously doubt anyone here is sorry they "missed out" on Lincecum...the worry is that his deal is indicative of how much money is going to be tossed around.
