It's such a baffling signing. Like, sure, if you basically just needed a guy in that nebulous, "well, we need one of those rando all glove veteran types on the bench who can play several positions to give the good players rest," it still sucks, but I get it. But this was a team that was likely going to need some actually capable MI backup, and it was going to be someone who was going to get some legit playing time...and this is who they go with? Why? Either they're dolts and think he inexplicably figured out being a capable player at horsefeathering age 32, or it's just the epitome of how cheap they're trying to go. Like, what possibly jumped out at them in regards to Descalso over a similarly dirt cheap player like Derek Dietrich, who at least has more than one horsefeathering season of not being a turd under his belt?
