  1. Oh man, I didn't even get to the second page yet. I wonder where in his mind 57 stolen bases somehow related to strikeouts--at all.
  2. lol
  3. This one made me lol
  4.
  5. So Nomar's playing the OF? I don't like that, at all. His throws to home would end up at third base. In any case, that is a good lineup.
  6. It's actually the only discussion going on for the board right now.
  7. Because if I could choose between Mora and Gibbons it's an easy choice.
  8. It's entirely un-Cubs fan-like, but for some reason I'm very optimistic that we will land Tejada in another typical Hendry fleecing. Mora too please, thanks. Can he play RF?
  9. Not hate, just no love for him. I believe we have other areas we need to address. Second base is not an issue right now. That's it. I'd take Freel before Pierre to play somewhere if we were going to get a Bradley/Abreu combo, or something similar.
  10. Sean Casey had one in Pittsburgh. Then again, he's probably a more important acqusition for them. He grew up in the Pittsburgh area.
  11. we're talking about what to do if he gets the boot. i really won't enjoy a MIF of Cedeno/Neifi. would you? Meh, no.
  12. Yeah, I don't even know why I brought up Pierre. Forgot who I was arguing with I guess. Nixon's only had 500+ abs twice, which is one more than Bradley in 2 more seasons. Bradley will be 28 around the start of next season, Nixon will be 32. Arguements can definitely be made for both, but I'll take Bradley, personal issues aside.
  13. Wasn't one of your arguements against Bradley health? Trot hasn't had more than 500 abs since 2002. A lot of that is likely due to his poor numbers against lefties, but he's been injured each of the last two seasons and is coming off of his worst year. That arguement was used againt Pierre any time he was brought up.
  14. So you'll take Trots 639 OPS forty games out of the year?
  15. How often do you face a lefty? 15, 20, 25% of the time? I don't see that as a huge deal considering he still has an OBP of .305 against lefties the past 3 years. Sure, that's uglier than you'd like, but it's .395 against the other 80% of pitchers out there. slightly less than 25%. And it's not a .305 OBP, it's a 306 slugging percentage. In 85 abs against lefties last year, he had 4 xbhs 40 games out of the year he's rendered useless. Sorry, no thanks. He's only a last option if Wilkerson, Bradley, Abreu, Huff, etc fall through.
  16. Patterson doesn't get trotted out there everyday when he struggles, either. Plus, why not just acquire one good hitter, instead of wasting two roster spots and more players, potentially on one position. Also you're assuming we have a competent manager, which we don't.

  18. I agree with Erin Andrews. I don't like Nichols at all. From her nose to her bottom lip..just..bothers me.
  19. The team around him fell apart. He was probably mentally deflated.
  20. But what if Cedeno doesn't work out? Most situations I'm all for giving the younger guy a chance, but we don't know what to expect out of Cedeno. He's hardly been scouted at the major league level yet, and if a deal for Tejada arose, and it required Cedeno, I'm all for it. Depending on the other players, of course.
  21. Oh please, I was joking. I like Cedeno, but I'd rather have Tejada. And if we were getting Tejada, there's no reason to keep Cedeno besides putting him at 2B, which doesn't seem likely.
  22. you're drunk and you "really" like Cedeno?
