    Just because you might not have someone to replaces him doesn't mean you overpay for him. He has had one spectacular season and a gaggle of good ones. Let's see how he does this year and re-sign him based on that. I don't want to have a "good" firstbaseman for 15m a season. I want a spectacular one for that price.

    Murton for Soriano is bad because our OF is already bad and we have a pretty good 2B in Walker. I don't think we should really be trading from a position of weakness for a player that is a bit of a headcase and who isn't a particularly good player.

    The only thing Ponson has proven is that he can out drink most of the guys on the team and could likely eat a whole pizza in less than 15 minutes. I take pride in being able to do the 2nd.

    Only thing I really remember about him was his GWer in extra-innings a few years ago. Estes actually pitched well that day, I think, and we blew a big lead.

    Okay. Why should walks be involved in SLG% anyways? Anyways, if you want to include walks, do BB+TB/PA and that should be pretty good, unless I'm missing something.

    I dont agree with that philosophy. The White Sox won last year and im pretty sure they were at the top in sacrifices. Sacrificing has been in the league for a hundred years. Time shows it's an effective strategy. Time also shows that a group of pitchers having the season of their career will also be a very effective strategy.

    Bunting is a stupid reason. He's bad at getting out intentionally, is what you're saying... I'd rather him get on base, which he will do better than just about anyone else on the team.
