  1. SI.com has it as Xavier Nady to the Pirates for Perez and Hernandez.
  2. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5832906 QUICK! CALL THE METS AND SEND THEM BULLPEN HELP!
  3. i'm betting this clears room for Freddie Bynum to come back up
  4. yeah, but nobody is going to line up Ramirez with Beltre because Beltre was coming off a great season and everyone knows he's not worth his contract at this point.
  5. you know what's good though? we don't have to play the Padres again this year.
  6. None, the Cubs play in the NL not the AL. Jokes aside, following the Cards, the Cubs play Arizona, Pittsburgh and Milwaukee. better?
  7. how many of our next 10 are against good teams? that's the only time we do well...
  8. that's a horrible time for a game in vegas. it's only going to be 99 tomorrow though, so I guess they timed it sort of well.
  9. Pie made an awkward looking diving catch. It was a nice catch but he was only in that position because he broke back on the ball. He made a nice running catch on the track in dead center. Also, on the 8-5 DP, he botched the play. He thought the inning was over but recovered in time to throw a dart to third base that was probably a missed call. The throw beat him but it looked like the tag was late. Restovich looked good.
  10. I should be at the 51's/ICubs game tonight
  11. Conversely, I'm going to stop following this game after that last inning. Leave while you're on top, no? That's what the guy sitting next to me at the game against the Brewers when DLee homered in the 8th.
  12. I wouldn't bet on it. How many players in the Hendry era have received 5 year contracts (or longer)? He was willing to go five years to get Furcal. Luckily the Dodgers saved us on that one. Furcal would have been a huge upgrade over Cedeno. Cedeno is not 13m a year and has upside. Upgrade? Sure. But he hasn't been very good this year, certainly not worth his contract.

  14. No, this thread is better. Garza is on his way up (is already here?) too.
  15. i remember that too. for the saints I think. dante stallworth?
  16. i'm putting up with the announcing jackassery for HD.
  17. assuming my calculations (i thought about it for a sec) I'm looking forward to this game because hill's last ESPN-start went so well (nomar's return).
  18. i doubt they'd go for because of his ability to opt out of this contract after this season.
  19. How many runs did Hill give up again? Well, there were two starts where a good offense could have won, but to say that Hill hasn't been mostly at fault in his losses is a little bit of bias against dusty.
  20. I think outside of Eyre the bullpen doesn't like him. Look at how inconsistently some of them have been used.
