  1. Are the Cubs? Last regular season game, three playoff games, and first regular season game. So yes.
  2. Good lord that's a lot of failed drug tests...how in the world are they still playing?
  3. Can't speak for everyone else, but it started when you stole Doherty from us after one year (and I took some special schadenfreude in the ensuing mess) and has grown from there. That said, if they win it all I win money, so go Heels.
  4. This matters how? Granted, Soriano did look particularly horrible, especially in his second at bat that featured him swinging the bat 6 times at 6 balls. Very frustrating. At least with Theriot you know the exact outcome of his PA every time: "Ryan Theriot flies out softly to RF" Oh, come now. He grounds out plenty often. He couldn't even make contact half the time today. I kept thinking to myself, if he's going to strikeout, then will anyone notice if we replace him with the bat boy? It's just his body couldn't handle the grind of starting a 2nd full major league season. He'll be fine now that he's adjusted.
  5. I actually like Brook as a pro. He seems like a decent complement to Noah if the Bulls choose to go that way.
  6. We did but they were all called The Brian Roberts Thread.
  7. Holy crap, I'd forgotten I used to post this.
  8. After one of the greatest debuts in the history of the Cubs was turned in by Kosuke Fukudome in a losing effort... http://assets.espn.go.com/media/apphoto/950b2455-7a02-4951-b465-2dbe7f65032b.jpg the warriors of the North Side return to action Wednesday afternoon in an attempt to reverse the loss of Opening Day. Taking the hill for the Cubs will be Theodore Roosevelt Lilly http://chicago.comcastsportsnet.com/images/content/cubs/lillyS.jpg who had a great first season with the Cubs and has a tough act to follow after Z turned in a sterling first start to the year. Opposing him for the Beermakers will be Cardinals' defect Jeff Suppan http://farm1.static.flickr.com/156/415234603_b6339cbd64.jpg who enjoyed a much-too-successful 2.84 ERA against the beloved Cubs in 2007. One can only hope this putz http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/images/2005/08/08/JZ87BONp.jpg receives an earholing from Lilly after doubling in two runs on Monday. Go Cubs!!!
  9. Pierre benched today. Joe Torre immediately gains new respect from me.
  10. I wouldn't be so mad at him if he had gotten 4 plate appearances, but he got more than anyone on the team, tied with Soriano. It's such a waste.
  11. Ok, either that got him right on the bone or it hit the bat.
  12. K Weeks, please. Or pop-up. Either one, I'm not picky.
  13. Battle of the bullpens...I think I like our chances.
  14. Prince didn't really dive so much as he fell down onto his blubber.
  15. Come on Fontenot. Make one good Cajun today.
  16. I still can't believe it. You couldn't have scripted the first day he's had, especially making up for the baserunning blunder 1,000 times over.
  17. WELCOME TO THE FUKUDOME!!!! OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. put on your sunglasses, hart. you stupid prick.
