  1. Pirates tie the ML record with 2 sac flies in an inning... We should take OPR out after this inning and let Lieber go for a few.
  2. 2-1 pitch was a strike. Again. And now it's bases loaded again.
  3. Well done by Felix. Too bad Rich is about three pitches away from serving up a three-run shot.
  4. Ump squeezing Hill now, as if Rich wasn't doing bad enough on his own.
  5. Well, crap. Now it's time for Rich to mentally implode.
  6. Let's get the first http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c124/bnance82/cubssweepsx1.jpg of the season!!
  7. No shame in Wood's outing. Giving up a solo shot to a good fastball hitter like Bay will happen from time to time...the important thing is that he immediately stopped the bleeding and made the next three batters look like chumps and kept the Cubs in it. Exactly. He made one mistake and a good fastball hitter picked on it. It's not as if Bay 'crashed' it. In fact, I distintively remember hearing that the commentators were surprise that the ball got out. Otherwise, it was definately a good outing--excluding one pitch---for Wood. It surprised me, too. DeRosa hit a ball earlier that was hit seemingly harder.
  8. Wow, Fontastic batting 2nd and Soto playing again. Surprised to not see any other regulars besides DeRo getting the day off. I like this lineup, though.
  9. I'll wager that Fontenot bats ahead of Blanco. Split the lefties up, you know.
  10. I read that as baldness. Odd, I read that as oldness. Potato, potahto I guess. :)
  11. He was 0/6 yesterday, so he's all kinds of due.
  12. Ronny has been a pleasant surprise the last couple of days. He worked a couple of really nice ABs last night, especially the walk on a 3-2 count late in the game.
  13. If this collection of crap Cardinals team manages to compete, my belief in the Cardinal pixie dust will be solidified.
  14. How the hell are we only a game and a half out of first?
  15. But he'll probably be facing Jason Marquis and a tapped Cubs pen...so.. I still like our odds in that matchup.
  16. Let's get the most taxing sweep in the history of baseball tomorrow. It's Matt Morris and a tapped Pirates pen, so it SHOULD be fairly simple.
  17. And of course it was 0-25 LaRoche. It had to be. On to the 15th.
  18. Just in case this really gets out of hand, Randy Keisler is the guy whose turn in the rotation for Iowa is tomorrow. Donnie Veal at Tennessee.
  19. Aaaand Pujols just hit his first official HR of the year. 5-3. Why do I get the feeling they'll be like the 04 and 05 teams that played about 20 games above their talent level...
  20. Felix Pierre. I'm seriously beginning to worry about him.
  21. For Fuku to be out, Sanchez would've had to tag him in the exact split second he caught the ball. Absolutely horrible call. No way in hell Fuku was out.
  22. Lot of deep counts that inning. Good job despite the no runs. Felix in CF.
