  1. David Grimes, Stanford 2007. After that reversal, anything is in play. The replay officials loathe us. Maybe the refs didn't see that sideline angle (although I think they do see all replays) because that other angle looked like he stepped out. They see whatever TV shows us.

  3. Rule of thumb: If it's inconclusive, ND is going to get the short end of the review.
  4. BEAUTIFUL screen pass!!!! Edit: Oh MF'er. He was out.
  5. Great catch. I don't like the way our DB's are playing the ball in the air.
  6. So much for Armando Allen being good at blitz pickup.
  7. Good first defensive possession though.
  8. That was a horrible draw call. And ND still can't kick the ball through the damn uprights.
  9. BEAT MICHIGAN!!!!
  10. MAC FTW! The thing is, you know MSU won't play like this next week.
  11. Wow, Michigan State.
  12. Holy crap! CMU gets the onside!
  13. What is Butch Jones thinking there??
  14. MSU takes the lead right back.
  15. I dont know why but this has the feel of the game 3 or 4 years ago when ND was favored and Michigan just came off their 6-6 season. ND fans seem a little over confident about this one. Ugh. I was at that game. The memory of the 37-7 3rd-quarter score still haunts. BEAT MICHIGAN!!!
  16. I think college OT rules are absurd. Would it be so difficult to have one possession for each team, starting with a kickoff for both? Regardless of the outcome of the 'first' possession, both teams kick to the other. They go until one team has more points than the other after an exchange. Seems simple.
  17. Talk on the ND boards is that if Weis is the coach who's supposed to be the guy, the Irish will beat Michigan rather easily tomorrow. Rationale being we're a year ahead of them in the 'process' and are much more talented (particularly in the 'experienced talent' category). Interesting perspective. BEAT MICHIGAN!
  18. I'm able to log in through the link Banedon provided on Emergency, but I'm still getting the old homepage and my old viewing style on the board.
  19. I'm not. They managed to be on the fringes of contention the last two years with ridiculous teams, it would stand to reason that when they got a decent hitter or two and Carpenter came back (inexplicably staying healthy all year and pitching like Bob Gibson) that they'd become an unstoppable force.
  20. I called it bigger than beating a 3-9 Iowa State team. Which it is.
  21. I am still laughing at "a win over Iowa State is better than a win over Notre Dame". In the year mentioned, Iowa State won 3 games (just like ND that year), all three at home, two of them by a combined four points. The Cyclones also lost a home game to Kent State, as well as UNI, and a game at Toledo. Just because Iowa State beat Iowa that year doesn't mean they weren't still a joke. All those teams that I mentioned earlier were much better in their respective years than any team UNI has ever beaten. If you want to take ND 2007 out of that list then we'll find 20 more teams Navy has beaten that were better than any team UNI has ever beaten. This is an insane argument.
  22. wake and rutgers are @Pitt and @ND the year before, plus a 3-point loss to Utah in the bowl game. East Carolina, @Stanford, @UConn in 2006, plus a 1-point loss to BC in the bowl game. Colorado State in the bowl game in 2005. Navy has at least 1 win in any given year, and usually more, bigger than anything Northern Iowa has ever won. This is, IMO, a ridiculous argument.
  23. Won't get to watch the Browns/Vikes because of the stupid Colts exclusivity rule in Indy. :x
  24. Of course, Iowa drops 15 spots, and Ohio State drops 2 spots after barely beating an arguably worse team. Navy's a solid team. Yeah, Navy's got some good talent and that triple option can be a difficult offense to defend. There's no comparison to Northern Iowa. Northern Iowa would have a good to great chance at beating Navy. Just because they're an FCS team doesn't mean they suck. Navy is far better than anyone gives them credit for. I think they'd easily defeat Northern Iowa.
